It depends on the breed of chicken.
Some types of chickens can cope much better with the harsh Australian climate, such as the Isla Brown. These chickens are prolific layers and lay brown eggs. A cross breed, they are friendly, (like Australians, haha) healthy chooks that are ideally suited to our climate.
There are white eggs available in Australia, but on a productivity level, there are other, better choices.

The egg colour is in relation to what the hens eat in relation to what forms the egg shells .The Creamy colour in Australia shows the hens in our country are far Superior to the American insiped white egg laying misfits.

it is all to do with the different breed and the different colours of the chooks. we can get white eggs in australia. we also can get the more creamy colour, or brown.
