The Jeebus tomb documentary? What do you think? Christians and theologists are quick to dismiss it, because they don"t believe it to be possible. Why couldn't that be the bones of jeebus? Wouldn't it be more probable that jeebus was a man, who died, and was buried then to assume his body flew off to a super duper kingdom of an invisible being?

The religious will never admit to the possibility that jesus was just a man with a family. To do so would be to admit that the bible (the so called word of god and the basis for christianity) is wrong. While definitely not conclusive or irrefutable, I thought the show raised some very interesting questions.

Because the Da Vinci Code is false already!

The evidence is full of holes adn tehre area a thousand stories about what Jesus really may have been (goddess worshipper, alien, wizard, etc.). His name was common name and so was Mary's. Besides, who the hell knows what Jesus' DNA is like?

You know, it's almost like Hollywood wants to stop people believing. Then again, it's probably just a marketing ploy for another overrated 'blockbuster' like Titanic (that REALLY was overrated), and James Cameron would probably die from being beaten over the head with a Bible weilded by some fundementalist nutbag.

Poor Jesus. All he did was try to set a good example and no one wants to cut him a bit of slack.

Do a little research and don't believe everything you see on film. This is not a new "discovery"...a film was made about 11 years ago about this exact same thing. Most archaeologists laugh at these filmmakers...they are in it for the money and none of this has anything in common with the truth.

Jesus died and rose again.....he was not placed in a family tomb. The bible says he was given the tomb of a rich man who asked for his body after his crucifixtion. The bible is an eyewitness account. These people who made this film just want to draw attention to themselves.

Jeebus? Oh wow... How tolerant and respectful of you! At least have some respect for those who believe in him, will you?
I'm sorry, but not everyone believes that Jesus was crucified, ok? Muslims believe that he was NOT crucified but was raised ALIVE to God.
You have a problem with that? No problem. No one's forcing you to believe the same thing.
I didn't watch the documentary, but neither am I willing to accept some load of nonsense about how Jesus was buried and such.
According to my belief (Islam), Jesus was a man, a prophet whom God sent to his people in order to show them Guidance and Light, and when people decided to crucify him, God saved him from the humiliation (crucifixion was the most humiliating punishment of the time) and just raised him up to Himself.
What's the evidence that he was 'buried'?
And if you REALLY wanna convince us that he was buried and all, then why not use more respectful, more honest reasons and words and names? How can you expect ANYONE to believe you with the intolerance that's built up in you, buddy?

When you disrespect other people, or even attempt to do so, you disrespect your own self. Do realize that you're always representing yourself, your people, your Religion/Faith, and most importantly, your parents--no matter what you do. Why not be a respectful being and always respect others even if you don't believe or agree with their beliefs?

Yes that is the only explanation of course he died and was buried but most likely his bones were in a hidden burial. The likelihood of those bones being his is one in ten thousand with all the odds against it the whole thing is ridiculous.

i thought it was good, i like how the one guy said how paul (or john i don't remember) said the material body and spiritual body are different, then the theologian is trying to dismiss it but says he's not disagreeing... nothing like using a persons own beliefs against him. it all comes down to "did jesus's bones go to heaven", i think anyone who isn't perfect in body would really like to think that everyone gets a new one in heaven.

In that period of time Jesus was a common name. It would be like if 2000 years from now someone found the grave of a Hillary and Bill and said that it had to be the Clintons! Just because it was those names means nothing. It's just ridiculous to even think that it is the Son of God that rose from the dead. I would be concidered the daughter of God because I am a Christian. So my husband is the Son of God. All Christians are sons and daughters of God.

Because when Jesus resurrected, He did so bodily. there would be no bones left to discover. Be fore He ascended to heaven He was on earth for 40 more days, eating and drinking and talking with His disciples. Doubting Thomas would not believe He was the risen Christ until he could touch His wounds. Jesus then ascended to heaven bodily.

why would they bury jesus with his family and inscribe his name on the tomb if they were trying to hide his body?? it doesnt make any sense.

They would have burnt his body if anything to rid of the evidence....

Even with DNA, there is nothing to compare it to. If we cant figure out who killed Kennedy a few decades ago, how are we gonna figure out who this pile of bones is from a couple millenia ago?
