The reason people are getting defensive at this question is because humans can decide for themselves to have plastic surgery, DOGS CANNOT. Do you think any animal wants frightening, painful, completely unnecessary surgery that takes a lot of care and time to heal? Do you think they can understand why their owner put them through this? There is no reason health wise why you would need to crop any part of an animal, which is why good vets refuse to do it. If we are all being "adult" here then COMMON SENSE should prevail, not some narcissistic notion about how a dog's looks can be "improved".
In short, why do it at all? I would suggest just loving and appreciating your animal the way he/she is. It is a privilege to be an owner - be responsible.

Why is everyone getting defensive? It was a simple question which deserves a simple answer. They said nothing about fighting the dog. I dont get it, A human can do lipo suction, get their stomachs tied to be thinner, get botox, face lifts .....boob jobs....hmmm i bet alot of men and women dont see anything wrong with that...A pet crop actually looks nice on a pitbull. Although I admit the devil or fighting crop should not be performed and I also think that particular cut is inhumane. I have a pitbull which I choose to keep her ears natural, but i also have a boxer who's ears I had done. Dont be so quick to judge an individual or his/her intentions. Also, pits can and are very good family dogs, But the media does not want to show that because its not ratings worthy. Get the facts straight before bashing, we are all adults .....Hopefully.............................For the answer, talk to a vet some due crops and some do not...Dont go bargain hunting, make sure your vet is skilled in this area...Good luck. also..the dog should be about 12 weeks old....

All Vets do no longer crop ears, and those which will gained't be properly exerienced in cropping your breed. call a community Pit Bull Rescue or Breeder and ask what VETS they might advise for ear cropping. must be performed on the right age and some Vets are not that tremendous at cropping. yet another element to contemplate is that via breed established, your canine does no longer opt for cropped ears to reveal. they offer the impact of being solid with their ears and having them intact would safeguard you contained in the destiny if BSL retains on this is route to exterminate large and/or solid canine breeds, with a present day concentration on APBT, Am-Staffs and Stafforshire Bull Terriers.

Pit bulls are not monsters it just depends on the type of environment they are raised in. But really your dog sounds like it is older than a tiny puppy and really you shouldn't crop a dogs ears once it is older; it is also more painful for the dog. Hope that helps some.

Why do you wish to crop your dog's ears? They cannot be done after about 14-16 weeks old and the after care is extensive. Many vets refuse to do them and definitely won't do any sort of fighting crop on them. The breed standard does not require it and the preferred look is natural.

Don't get the ears clipped...just have the Pit Bull euthanized.

Pit bulls are killers...no matter what you think.

Unless you have much money...get rid of that dog. It is a liability...and you can never control it.

I speak from experience.

i think it is appalling that u would want to do this to ur dog. there is no reason for cropping like this to b done other than to satisfy ur own shallow ego. pit bulls can be wonderful pets, but only if they have a sensible owner, which this poor animal is lacking.

and what do you want to do that for?
My suggestion get a blunt knife cut of your own ears then find a GOOD home for the dog.
