If you just went through a breakup that means you broke a connection. (And obviously an emotional one) One thing that will make you feel a lot better is connecting with other people. Wether that is spending time with your friends or going out to meet new people. Maybe call an old friend or go spend time with a family member you don't see that often. Find a way to connect with someone.
Do things you enjoy. Obviously doing something that you find pleasure in will bring your mood up.
Whatever you focus will expand. Take some time to think about the things in your life that make you happy. Who do you care for? What about your friends do you like? What are you grateful for in your life?
Focus on postive things and things that make you feel good and go do them.

Start a hobby, pottery, dancing, walking - whatever you enjoy.
Start reading
Go out with friends
Paint your nails, get a facial, get a new hair style - it will make you feel like a whole new you
Throw out EVERYTHNG that reminds you of your ex
Read He's Just Not That Into You - I have it on email if you would like a copy (for your future relationships)
Try to meet new people, male friends really help
Hire some chick flicks, Thelma & Louise/Dirty Dancing ones that make you feel powerful...no soppy ones
Write a list of goals you wish to acheive
Do something you have always been scared to do, like sky dive
HOPE THIS HELPS
Oh and men suck! :-)

I'd say watch movies (no love stories) to take your mind off of it for a while. I also find it helps to sleep because you rest from thinking about it and when you dream you're living something else. Occupy yourself; work, friends. Hey, how about doing stuff you've always wanted to do if you haven't because of that relationship, I think it'll give you satisfaction. When I'm down it gives me some joy to eat something I love, like a chocolate milkshake.

monicha - thats one thing to do yup.
some other things - find some friends to help you get back into mind shape.....like going to movies with a group of friends, a warm soothing bath, buy yourself flowers or some item ,,,could be clothing - that doesn't connect you to him, listen to upbeat music, start a new hobby, sit out on the step and watch the stars and own your space. bet there's some other things you can think of to do.
also give yourself time to grieve and don't let anyone tell you to "get over it" or "move on".....in your own time you will.
wish you the best.

laughter is the best medicine.Watch a good movie or be around other people as much as possible. Its hard to stay in a bad mood if you are around abunch of happy people...they wont let you.
Even though you dont feel like laughing at first being in that possitive environment gets contagious.

I sing a song la la la la la!
actually the best thing to do is smoke a pack of lucky strikes and photocopy pictures of your ex and put them all over the floor so you walk all over them every time you put your foot down. then you order a strip-o-gram to her parents house and hide in a white van across the street and take pictures of thier reactions, then you mail the pictures in an unmarked envelope to the ufo sightings society...... or you can post ridiculous answers on yahoo all day.... it gets me by

Try finding new interests that will take your mind away for a while. If you have any hobbies pursue those.
Im not saying that it will go away with a click, but it will help you move on and in time it will get better.

My favorite thing is to have a bubble bath with candles and a nice glass of wine to help you relax. Or if that doesnt work go to a spa and spoil yourself. I hope that helps. And be with your friends!!! They always make me feel better!!!
Hope that helps a little!!
