i had to go to the doctor for the same problem and they gave me an oral antibiotic and treated my husband too (she gave me enough to treat me and then I "lost" it and had to order it again from the pharmacy) as per her instructions. He was treated (we didn't have sex for a few days after we were treated). That worked for me. After the treatments, make sure you are using 100% cotton underware----not just the cotton lining--- but the entire underware is 100% cotton. And, add a little bit 1/2 cup of bleach to your washing machine when you wash your underware (and your bf!!) Before and after treatment. You must kill the bacteria in your underware or else the moist environment will help it grow again. And, if you can, sleep without underware so moisture isn't trapped. Also, urinate within 5-10 minutes after having sex. That will help keep you from getting UTIs. If you are using sex lubricants like KY or astroglide (astroglide is great!), have some babywipes and wipe yourself after you're done (front to back of course). Don't use any spermicides or douches or bubble baths or sprays for odor or any chemicals that might irritate you. Do your best to keep clean (disinfect toys, wash hands). My friend used yogurt with live cultures and with her hand inserted a tablespoon into her vagina after she had taken antibiotics (her doctor's suggestion!). Make sure the yogurt doesn't have sugars or coloring, just plain. Also, cut back on eating too much sugar. It effects blood chemistry and lowers your immunity. You can also buy special strips at the pharmacy (about $10) that you urinate on to see if you have a bacterial infection. They test for UTIs too. Ask the pharmacist. Anyway, my advice covers a variety of problems like yeast, UTI, and bacterial. I have had issues with all of them and now I don't have any problems! Yea! good luck to you! I wrote a lot, so don't forget that the first step is to go to the doctor and get the antibiotics!

You need to go to the doctor and get an antibiotic vaginal suppository (brand name is metrogel), that is, if you truly have bacterial vaginosis. There are no home remedies for this. Take care of it with the medication, then take care of yourself and your general health. You may not even have this, and your doctor can let you know what's going on.

Dont l;et him ejaculate in you. The Ph of Semen throws off the normal Ph of the vagina, and this is why the bacteria gets out of whack. If he doesnt like wearing a rubber tough, because his other choice is to smell BV - besides, you shouldnt have to deal with that, so tell him to wrap up!
