Yeah, pale skin can be ugly. Pale skin indicates that you are not getting enough vitamin D through sunlight. That is why people instincitively value that "healthy glow".

It is not the least bit ugly!!! Fair skin is beautiful! Honestly what do you think of your skin? Here are some famous fair skined people who are defintly not ugly:
Nicole Kidman
Johnny Depp
Winona Ryder
Marcia Cross
Conan O'Brain
Rose Mcgowan
Dita Von Tesse
Naiomi Watts
Jack White
Karen Elson
Lily Cole
.........

Your mom has no right to tell you you're ugly! Your skin is beauutiful and healthy. Keep taking care of your skin; when you get older, you will see you look so much better then all those sunworshipers.

Your skin is fine just the way it is!

I went from a sun worshiper to sun phobic. I am also pale, when I was younger, I only liked the way I looked when I was tanned. I used sunlamps and spent much time in the sun that I ended up with fine lines and spots which would no longer tan. I resorted to a skin peel which brought back my previous pale skin which I suddenly loved.

Add a little blush to brighten up your face, or use a good bronzer designed for pale skin. Prescriptives has a bronzer designed for light skinned people and when I wear light colors, I use it so I don't look washed out. Please use a good sun block. eat healthy food and drink a lot of water. You will eventually thank yourself.

Pale skin is not ugly! Did you know that pale skin was a sign of purity and royalty because dark skin was a sign that you worked hard in the sun. Pale skin looks healthier and more vibrant than over tanned skin. Ovetanned skin looks really leathery over time.Sure tans look good for now but when you start to age you will age TWICE as fast! I would much rather be called "pale face" than "leather head" any day of the week! Dont worry about what other people say to you! Stay pale and pretty for the rest of your life!
Good luck!

I wish that I had pale skin! I have a really deep natural tan, and it looks so reddish-orange! I even use lighter shades of foundation and pressed powder in attempt to lessen the effect of it!

Of course it isn't ugly! And plus, pale skin matches so well with all colors and shades of clothing and cosmetics!

It might not look EXTREMELY healthy, but that doesn't make it ugly!

There is nothing wrong with pale skin. Why increase your chances of skin cancer by getting a tan, or why risk having the striped orange look from fake tan products?
If you're happy, stay as you are.

I don't think pale skin is ugly. I think it can be very pretty on some people, especially like redheads and just some people.. It looks fine if it's not ghostly pale I think. But I think a healthy glow can be nice too. (But not fake tans.. They look unnatural).

Pale skin has always seemed pretty to me.
But it mite not be a good look for everyone.
I've always been so pale that even the lightest shade of makeup was too dark.
But some people are just pale and some are tan.
I used to feel bad about being so pale but now I just think this is how I was ment to be and god intended me to look.
So just except what god has given you.

The only thing that matters is that you're comfortable with it. Besides, it's much better than getting skin cancer or turning your self orange with fake tanning spray. I think pale skin is totally okay as long as it isn't really really ghastly pale, because that's sorta creepy.

Please don't listen to your mum. It sounds like she has an unhealthy obsession with tanning.

I used to tan all the time and I really regret it now. Not only did it damage my skin, I ended up with skin cancer. I really wish I had just have been happy with my pale skin.

Pale skin is beautiful in my opinion, I had to learn that the hard way. Please don't make the same mistake as I did.

Take care : )

Healthy pale skin has always equaled to beauty and femininity. As long as you are healthy, it's alright. But still, if you like your skin, keep it that way. It's you body and you have the right to make your own decisions about it.
