Hi!
This is kind of an odd question: my boyfriend is very romantic and is actually a very good kisser. I have no complaints in that respect. :) My one pet peeve is that he's a rather noisy kisser. I always feel slightly self-conscious kissing him around other people because of this, and I always do my best to kiss him in such a way as to minimize any "smacking" noises. Still, he is just a very loud kisser. Is there any way to minimize this noise? Or any ways to ask him to quiet down a bit without hurting his feelings?
Thanks so much!

Lol...thanks everyone! By kissing "around other people", I don't mean making out in public,---I am certainly not a fan of amorous PDAs. :) We have a group of friends who we routinely spend time with which is mostly comprised of couples, so if one couple starts kissing (not making out, just kissing), then the others really don't mind. So it's just between friends, but I'm still a little embarrassed by his loud kisses around them...

Haha, well honey, I have the same problem, literally! I'm a noisy kisser, and my husband hates it! He prefers those sweet, quiet ones that are private and for no one else. My guess is that you are the same way. You feel that your kisses are for your sweetie and him only, so you don't want others sharing that experience with you when he goes on a concert-worthy smack session to announce his undying love for you and your kisser. Best way to handle it: tell him how you feel, that you love his kisses, but you'd like for them to stay they way they were meant to be, between you two! Let him know that a little less MUAH can go a loooong way in making the kissy-smoochy in public last longer, because the less noise made, the fewer ppl who will notice, and the more likely you will be to continue the luscious lip lock that he has you in. He'll be all for an extended version of that! Best part: the thought of longer, more relaxed kisses from you will most likely override any negative you are worried he might be hearing from you on this subject! ;-) Best of luck and I hope you get the quiet lip-lock you are looking for!

First of all, feel lucky that he's good, despite the loudness. I had a boyfriend once who was a lousy, loud kisser, and he loved trying to kiss me in public. I dodged him, because I don't like PDA.
As some have said, the issue shouldn't be the loudness so much as the PDA... Does the sound bother you when you are alone? If not, it would prolly be easier to tell him you are uncomfortable with PDA... if he asked why, then maybe mention the loudness as a factor. I think though, that if it doesn't bother you unless others hear, you can make it far less embarassing for the both of you by just asking to tone down PDA. Even if it was quiet kissing, most of those around you are NOT thinking it's cute lol

Be honest with him if it makes you uncomfortable I don't think it will be a problem. Just tell him exactly what you said here. Though I don't think "noisey kissing" really makes a difference because people will either be ok with public displays of affection or will feel uncomfortable around people kissing in public. Either way you are doing it, the noise factor is probably only something that's a problem in your mind and probably makes no difference to anyone else around you.
Or you could just tell him you don't feel comfortable being intimate with him in public.

Just sack up and tell him you don't like the smacking sounds.
I suppose if you want to be a bit more devious you could tell him you're more turned on by silence than smacking sounds.
Or you could give him a ******* every time the two of you make out silently.
I'm sure he won't want to keep making smacking sounds after you tell him you don't like them. If he thinks kissing noises are more important than you then you should leave.

1st u might wanna tell the person ur kissin that ur not 2 experienced that way if u mess up u won;t feel 2 embaressed. 2nd all u have 2 do is go with the flow and let him/her make the first move and after that ur pretty much good to go ps try not to eat such strong foods like garlic or onions instead try poppin in some fruity candy or a sprite or any other sodas.

I have had the EXACT same guy (kissing wise) and I totally agree with the kissing in public thing, its just awkward. I really dont think there is a way to prevent the noise because clearly he is making it. I cant explain the way to try and stop it, so I suggest saying something.
If you have been together a while and feel comfortable with him, just joke around about it and maybe suggest it like that in a flirtatious way....or just be totally blunt about it!
good luck.

I think sometimes that noises is done deliberately -LOL.
When he does that u tell him to stop it-but say it humorously &stop each time u hear it.
That will frastrate him so much, he'll either stop kissing alltogether, or get angry: that is ok, cause then u have ur opening to tell him his noisy, if he doesnt believe u, tell him to kiss u again &listen.
If he doesnt get made &think its funny warn him u'll go for...um mr man down stairs, hit, smack or something.

The most important thing is to be honest with him! Guys tend to appreciate honesty. If he knows that his smacking tendencies bother you, he will do one of two things--he will either continue them because he likes to see you flustered (for some silly reason, men tend to think gf's are cute when they are mad) or he will take your feelings into consideration and quiet down. Take the chance.

How about not kissing around other people. It's sickening to watch people make out in public. GET A ROOM!
