I am just beginning to write chidren's books after 20 years of teacher elem/preschool, but at 56, not being a mother nor grandmother of young children, I need to update myself. They will actually be Christian books, but I just need to know what age group would be interested in seeds, planting and germinating, in very basic vocabulary of course.

I agree with everyone that age 4-7 is the prime time, but I do have something a little different to add. My son, age 14 now, just told me last week that one of the 'coolest' things he ever had was his own row in the garden! I had forgotten that, but I remember it now that he mentions it. When he was somewhere between 5 and 6, we had a small garden and I let him plant about 5 different vegetables all in 1 row. He could remember every vegetable, down to the climbing peas on the end! He tended that little row, watering it and pulling weeds, and apparently, it made an impression on him! He's such a tough and sometimes aloof teenager now, and it's nice to share that sweet memory.

Don't know if this story helps, but it does illustrate how keenly interested many kids are in this little miracle!

From age 4 to 9. My children in KG just love to discover something that is planted or seeds that has been germinating. My 9 yr. old is always excited during experiments and observation of seeds and germination too.

My kids all enjoy helping me in the garden, but the six year old is the most interested in it. I would say that between 4 and 7 they are the most interested.

I Notice 4 and 5 yr olds are interested in this... especially that they have their own special responcibility to take care of it , as they watch it grow. And they learn how it grows and what it needs......... water and light, just as we need food but also spiritual food and the light of the world

I agree with Lesley... between the ages of four and seven. Kids really like to see how things grow over time and how things work.

i'm sorry that you've had such awful reports with individuals of the Church. people are not any more ideal, and a number of them are downright terrible, even Mormons. I actually have many unresolved questions with reference to the LDS Church, yet we ought to both note of that conflicts we would have with others who're Mormons do not have any more something to do with what we believe. As on your questions raised via studying "anti-mormon" literature. that is fantastically straight forward for people to categorize it as "lies" or "out of context" or in spite of. although the very truth of the count number is that there are countless questions that are truly with out solid solutions. a lot of those questions are faith-shaking at most suitable, faith-shattering at worst. yet people usually blithely overlook about them, both deliberately or via lack of expertise. And enable's be honest - maximum people will believe in spite of they opt for to, in spite of the data. finally, it boils all the way down to why you opt for to leave the LDS Church. do you opt for to do it because you've got here across something better? something that you think is the truth and what God needs you to do? if so, then renounce from the Mormon church. although, no matter if that is merely to lash out at a company that you're feeling has been pushing you round your entire existence, i'd intently weigh the unfavourable consequences (that you've defined) antagonistic to resigning. it would properly be worse to lose your family individuals and friends, and enable's settle for it, your resignation might want to no longer damage the Church in any way. likely the merely people it will be hurting is your family individuals, and as a effect, you. Do I sound as if i have spent alot of time considering the very similar themes you're? :-) @tyb: I forgive you. Have a fantastic one.
