I always watch Joel Osteen and I think he's a great and motivational speaker. He is the kind of guy we need- always reminds us we have a sense of purpose and potential even when we are discouraged and it has worked for me- I have managed to shrug off disappointments just by listening to him and learned to cope with disappointing people and situations.

Joel Osteen needs to preach the biblical Gospel more, instead of his "I'm ok, your ok" feel good about yourself "gospel". People are not "ok". They are sinners in need of repentence and salvation. But "itching ears" like what he preaches.....theBerean...........NOTE ADDED..after reading some of the answers on this page, it is easy to see that we must be in the last days. The "answers" are indicative of the state of the Church today. The Lord must be really "spewing" it out of His mouth.

Joel Osteen is not your typical preacher. A motivational speaker is someone who encourages and motivates people and that's what he does. I think this generation of Christians needs this. The world we live in is at it's worse for Christians and so many get discouraged. His ministry is to motivate us in the word of God and there's nothing wrong with it.

Watching him right now on ABC FAMILY how weird!!! Yes hes a great motivational and spiritual speaker. I like the fact that he brings a new way of reaching out even to young people. For years and decades we had too many evangelists corrupt the views and true meaning of God. I really thinks hes breaking that barrier and reaching out to people because he doesn't focus on the rights and wrongs but focusing on believing and having faith. I think his quote of being a Victor not a Victim is the best and so true!!

I hate to say this but .... my gay-dar tells me he is gay. I may be wrong but .... I have been right too often to mention.

I enjoy listening to Osteen ... esp . about marriage. Only thing is .... there is always a double life to these high profile guys.

Bill Clinton speaks a good tune about women but .... he definitely is a sexual predator. Still gets paid huge sums to
speak.

The Catholic heirarchy may be a high percentage gay ... but look at what they say about gays .....

Ted Haggard ..... I put him in the same category as Osteen. Nice looking package but ..... inside is a surprise.

I'm waiting .... not hoping ..... for OSteen to surprise his ...... faithful ...

I haven't done much as far as religion goes, but when I found him on the tv I couldn't help but watch him. My grandson is 9 and he even said that the guy makes him think and makes sense. I think he's great. He doesn't get deep into the bible so that you can't understand it. He eases you into it. He's got some strange but interesting examples and he's always smiling. He's funny and worth sitting and listening to. I find myself waiting for Sundays just to watch him. He has helped me a lot too. I thank him for his ways. He really is a Godsend.

antichrist?

Word of Faith (WOF) CULT

false prophets of “Christian” self-esteem

lack of theological training

Word Faith teachers currently infesting our Lord’s Church–an alarmingly arrogant breed who are now fearlessly spouting their doctrines of devils.

I am trying to get through the Left Behind series and all I can see is Nicolae and his World organized religion.
When you watch this Joel guy preach, with this grin in front of a Globe, not a CROSS, just makes me saddened at how little faith one would have to follow someone like that.
