If these posts are evidence of anything it is that morals or a lack thereof have absoluteley nothing to do with religion or a lack thereof.

Atheism and morality have nothing to do with each other. Atheism is simply not believing that a God exists. Atheists can be moral, immoral, honest, dishonest, etc. It's a matter of the individual atheist.

Atheism doesn't promote anything. Atheism is just a position on a metaphysical question, whether or the supernatrral gods exist. It is not a position on an ethical question, having to do with right and wrong. Belief or disbelief in anything supernatural has no connection with living ethically.

Atheism promotes NOTHING, these people live in ignorance thinking this life is the only life and its eternal, they watch too much TV, have thingd handed on the plate for them, they live in a society where they dont really struggle in life, they dont make or have time to do relgious research and think about faith, they are so preoccupied in what they do like, drink, sex, go work, come home, eat sleep, go toilet, etc that they get used to this and say this is how you life life and NOT by worshippjng God, their mind and heart are in a different level and world and they world they see is life is created by Science, technology, so they think so much into this that their mind becomes weak and actually follow these theoris and lose faith or dont ave faith, its a test of faith as God said, distinguish between the strong mind and the weak minded people. God says dont think too much about how when, if God created, etc, otherwise u lose faith, just do good deeds, have faith, but some ppl tend to eb weak, gullable and lose or never have this, i say let them be and let God judge.

Then you haven't been paying attention. The things Christians think are immoral are quite a bit different than what everyone else thinks is immoral. Morals are determined by society, not by a religion. Last I looked spreading prejudice, hatred, intolerance, and supporting removal of rights to support your own personal beliefs is immoral. Guess the Christians are immoral then, because I haven't seen Atheists promote that as much as Christians.

There really isn't a lot of evidence of morality on either side of this argument here on YA.

The mistake you xtians make is that you are always trying to impose your idea of morality on others. With the exception of a few *ssholes (which you will find anywhere) I don't know what your problem is

Well, for one thing, morality is to be performed and not to be spoken of.

You can have an Atheist helping old grandmothers cross the street, but he/she does not go around telling people he/she does that.

what alleged atheist lack of morality have you seen demonstrated here?
the only question I've answered here lately that was germane to your question had to do with returning something a stranger had dropped. almost uniformly the answerers, whether theist or non, said they'd make an effort to return a stranger's lost item.

please cite examples.

individuals promote their own form of morality. if this wasn't the case, then why do we have christians who disagree amongst themselves about homosexuality, abortion, and women wearing jeans to services? i personally feel that religious belief - or lack of - has very little to do with one's morality.
