Several free programs that might help. Download Sypbot or Adaware to check for spyware. If you don't have a virus program, download either AVG or AVAST, and run a scan. For a tune up, get Advanced Windows Care and CCleaner, hopefully it will clear up any bottle necks. Chow

Well there are several possibilities to why it is so slow...i'd suggest u get it scanned for viruses and spyware as well...if it is still slow,do major housekeeping on ur diskdrive. make u u have more than 1gb of space avaliable on it and try not to overload ur desktop with icons and other stuff. get rid of unnecessary stuff. I guess it should be able to run normally after. Cheers!

Scan with fully updated Anti-Malware programs (Adaware, AVG Free Antivirus, Spybot S & D) and that should speed it up,
also you can go to Programs>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter and that should speed things up alot.

You can system restore but it will erase all of you files unless you can make a backup of your files. Then after system restore buy a good Anti Virus software.

try scanning your computer with a virus scanner (Stinger, TrendMicro, Symantec Anti-Virus, Spybot Search & Destroy, etc.) or try removing any music download programs you have installed on your computer, like Limewire, as well as any files dealing with the program (for instance, if you have limewire you would search for documents with 'limewire' in the name). It's worked for me in the past.
