Computers made out of pine cones actually absorb CO2, but they don't come in laptop versions yet.

computers???? lol, they don't emit CO2. They use electricity, which is used without emitting any gases, like fossil fuels. The electricity production might have CO2 emissions, depending if it came from a coal or nuclear plant, but the probability is it's from a hydro electric plant or other renewable energy production plant.

The computer itself doesn't release CO2, but the use of electricity does.

The ones that use the least energy (look for energy star) are the best choice.

Also, turn it off when you are not using it - not just putting it to sleep.
