I'm athiest and was raised as such, but I don't understand how you tied Christianity in particular to a lack of morals. I think group mentally and thinking one belief system is superior can be to one's detriment, but I'm sure as to why you selected Christianity in particular to exemplify this.

No, Christianity does not promote immoral behavior. Many people think it does and sadly many who claim to follow Christ think the same way. But God knew that by forgiving our sins there would be people who would ask questions just like the one you have asked. God knew there would be people who would think that they can do all the want because there is forgiveness. Since God knew this, he inspired Paul to know this as well. And so God inspired Paul to write, "Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin, how can we live in it any longer?" A true Christian will not desire to go on being immoral because the immoral behavior is now dead. Therefore, it does not promote immoral behavior, but it does promote living a life changed by grace.

Indeed. If you are a believer in Christ, then you can do no (permanent) wrong. You have no true personal accountability or responsibility. If you do something bad, the Devil made you do it! It is because you were under the influence of Satan, not because you were short-sighted or just plain wrong. You can blame this external force for all your wrong doings and keep your own conscience clean and clear -- you do not have to feel bad about what you did, nor have to make serious amends for it. All that is necessary is to ask God to forgive you (which God, of course, always will), and you are free of all wrong doings. What a wonderful way to destroy a healthy sense of accountability! What a marvelous way to warp a balanced moral fabric of right and wrong! While Ghandi goes to Hell for being a non-Christian saint, Jeffrey Dahmer can repent and go to Heaven to eat supper with his victim's parents. This is, in fact, the main driving force behind various types of religiously-inspired hatred and murder: if you are killing for God, or repent while you are killing, then you are really a "good" person, while the "bad" you killed are going to Hell. But it's okay, because they aren't Christian. We saw the results of this in the Inquisitions.

Your understanding is sinful. The bible says that such a person will get a one way ticket straight to hell.
=== Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, ===
Whoever gave you that understanding must be a worker for the devil.
And if you have that understanding by yourself, it means that you're a pure sinner not destined to be saved.

your answre lies in your question actully
since your question is very very good and thought provoking and wonderfull in a sence that i never expected such sensitive thought from a question
this really is the matter that when God Has told you that killing one innocent man is like killing humanity than how would you think that jesusu will plead your case in front of God
if i may say so that it christian actuaaly who are promoting immoralty because theier basic belief the fundamental is based on a very illogical concept thet jesus is a son of God and that what ever you will do you will be forgiven because of jesus
first of all jesus is not God's son he is His Prophet
the biggest sin on this earth is to assign partner To God and this sin will never br forgiven rest of the sins can be forgiven by regreting and repentence and yes there is a real saviour who can grant us the forgiveness of God (except "shirk" i.e assigning partner to God) and he is the last prophet of God Mohammad .

Christianity states that the only way to be saved from a sin (such as Murder) is to confess that sin and, with wholeheartedness, ask for forgivness.
If you killed 1000 people and didnt repent, you would not be saved.
Nice try though, trying to knock down religious beliefs.

You can't purposely do thing such as the formentioned assuming instant forgivness from God. Thats not the way it works..
We don't sin with no conscience thinking Christ has unconditional love.

salvation, and one's spiritual journey is an internal process with outward results. what you really believe will show itself. those "christians" who promote what you listed ARE promoting hypocrisy and immorality, whether they mean to or not. MY christianity strives for social justice and peace for all people, as Jesus did. it is not caught up in the legalism of literalists. my faith is not based on a book, or a bldg, or anything other than the example of jesus, and the reality of what has happened in my life as a direct result of following that example. the rest is nonsense.

Go to the bible for that answer. It is said that you cannot behave that way if you are Christian. Why? Because if you really believe what Jesus preaches, then you aren't going to be a murderer.
"This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth..." 1st John 1:5

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in this present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you."
(Titus 2:11-15)
So I would say on this basis of this one Scripture that the answer is no. You are greatly mistaken.
