I have a problem with falling asleep. There is a supplement called melatonin which your body produces naturally. Some people just dont make enough making it difficult to fall asleep. The product I use is made by Nature's Bounty. You should try it. It really works!

There are plenty of ways:
1. Drink a tall glass of milk
2. Go jogging for an hour, return home, cool down, take a warm shower and change into comfy PJs
3. Read till you fall asleep.
4. Have sex.

I'm no expert but some stuff I've heard/read from experts: avoid eating/drinking anything for at least two hours before you go to bed. Avoid alcohol too. Turn the TV off. Have a clean room, messes make it harder to sleep. Best method though, is to exhaust yourself during the day. Work really hard. Play harder. Stay off the couch/computer chair.

I have problems to fall asleep too. I try to stay away from sleeping pills or drugs.
I have read many articles about how to improve your sleeping, and I made some little changes in my bedroom, that have helped me very much.
1st- Is important not to sleep with the TV or Radios on. The sounds and lights, can still stimulate the brain's activity even while we are sleeping, preventing us to have a good night sleep.
There are those sounds used in SPA's for relaxation, those are helpfull too, but those are the only exception.
2nd- following the 1st step, I make sure not to have any lights coming out from my window. Get a blind or a curtain that blocks all the lights from coming thorough of your window. Turn off the lights and check if the room is totally dark.
3rd- Change the light's bulb of your table's lights to red or to a warm color. Its helps to relax your mind, and prepare you to sleep.
4th- Try aroma therapy, before you go to bed too.
On my case, I take a warm shower (during winter) with Lavander body wash from Jonhsons (there is a baby version too, that is really good).
5th- Spray a little of lavander on the pillows of your bed, before you go to sleep.
When you get ready to sleep, turn off your tv and all the lighs in your bedroom, spray the lavander on your bed, on the pillows in particular (you can use a laundry softner), check if the room is all dark, if so, turn the red or another warm color of your table lamp on, close your eyes, when you feel you are about to sleep, turn the table lights off and good night !
You can use candles or those aroma therapy kits sold on stores, but I have used this method (cheaper) and have gotten great results. I have slept much better. Good Luck !

Ummm....sex (well, more specifically, climax) actually causes a flood release of sleep inducing chemicals. That's why people always joke about the guy wanting to go off to sleep afterwards...it works for the ladies too. And it's something you can do with someone or alone:)
Works like a charm for me.

Find a soft surface and place your body upon it, parallel to the ground. Think relaxing thoughts (I like to magine I am scuba diving in a coral reef), and soon you will be asleep.

have you tried closing your eyes while listening to the radio? or maybe you can stare at the wall and imagine good things. or maybe you just have a sleeping disorder. depends on how long this incident happens to you.
