about six weeks ago I have gotten really close with god. Now every time I pray or just think about him I get chills all over my body. Is that the holy spirit?

Could be. Consider becoming pentecostal or going to the doctor.

There is currently a lot of study about the kind of thing you are talking about. The idea of "god" and a human need to have a such an idea. There was a very interesting article in this Sunday's New York Times magazine about why people "need" god.
Personally, I don't think that is the holy spirit, but more your identification with an idea you can believe in. This is not to say that I do not believe you are getting chills, but merely that you believe so intensely that it creates a psychosomatic response.

I get that sometimes too, like goosebumps. Also, when I hear somebody reciting the Holy Qur'an, or if I'm reading it with full heart, it's like "bliss", and gives you that peaceful feeling. I'm not exactly sure why, but it's pretty common, I've talked about that with many other Muslims.

When I was Catholic, I don't think I experienced that, but I wasn't religious.

ITs the best feeling. It means your closest with God and His presence is with you. Try meditating it gets stronger and might feel weird and scary but there is nothing scary about it whatsoever. Just enjoy the feeling and surrender to it and than watch how many little good things happen to your life.

It's not the holy spirit. It could be an aggravation or an onset of schizophrenia. You should seek medical help rapidly.

It could be. Sometimes He allows us to feel His presence. Enjoy it while He does because at other times we don't feel God at all and have to keep believing in faith and not by our feelings.
