Do you have to be socially pressured into believing it before you can reject it? Let's say you live on an island where no one is Christian. In the library you find the Bible in the fiction department and you read front to back and regard all of it as good fiction. Is that rejecting the Bible? Would the "Holy Spirit" be able to reach you in that scenario?

Note: Your question is worded towards someone who is a believer in God, so it might be difficult for those whom are nonreligious to understand.

In answer to your question ... I would feel that the "Holy Spirit" is always with you no matter what.

You can be pressured into hearing the word of God, which a lot of people were as children. Being experienced in several Religions with their slightly different views caused me to reject the Bible along with most of the Christian Religions. If you study a bit without using the bible you soon will be able to reject it and most of the beliefs people were supposed to have. The bible was a powerful book for many years, but it has lost its potency anymore. Most of the writings are confusing and many just don't make sense. The Holy Spirit was something made up about 325 years after the death of Christ which is a mythical idea but it controlled a lot of people for many years. Through my studies of Religion I have found out the Bible was written by powerful Roman families and it was done to control people. Hope this is helpful.

Hearing God has nothing to do with books, people or objects. Its believing that something is bigger than you and knowing that He is with you always. It's a feeling not a thing. Religion and congregating is just enjoying the fact that other people feel and experience the same as you do. There's nothing more exciting than to share ones feeling of God with another person and still be labled sane! I think its really disappointing that we can talk about and admire Celebrities, Leaders etc etc but the minute anyone brings God into a conversation we are weirdos. I'm not the holiest person, I don't attend church, I sin sometimes, but the main thing is I feel God's presence all the time and not a day goes by I don't acknowledge his existence and that was all experienced by myself no influences.

No, you can reject it on your own without the help of any social structure. The Holy Spirit can intervene. Even if you have no preconceived knowledge of Christ. God's power can open anyones heart & mind. Since He has given us free will to choose it would be up to you whether or not you believe what you read in the Bible in its entirety. And whether or not you want to accept Him as your Lord & Savior. With God all things are possible <>< <><

The Holy Spirit would guide the person to the Truth in this instance.

I believe after hearing the Word od God and accepting Christ and the Holy Spirit comes upon them-then after they reject it is what you are saying?

Peter denied Christ three times but repented each time..The Holy Spirit is strong.

If you believe in the Holy Spirit...then he/she is supposed to be able to reach you no matter the circumstance.

You do not need to be "pressured" into anything before rejecting it. Rejection is simply a choice + action that exists w/or w/out coercion. We simply need to be aware of a thing and or idea and then can choose to reject it.

No,that would not be rejecting the Bible. If you had a man or woman of God ministering to you and you rejected the idea of God, that would qualify as rejecting God. And yes to part 2, the Holy Spirit is capable of anything!

I was raised going to Sunday School every Sunday. I was baptised, confirmed, a member of the church choir, and a member of the youth group for 10 years and no spirits ever reached me.

Explain that.

When you hear Jehovahs word you know its the truth and you reject it anyway, and you go off doing your own thing because you don't want to conform to the right way of living. Or however you may feel. And you continue to do wrong when you know what is right, and you know it in your heart.

It seems to me that that is a matter between you and God, but that in due time will become evident to all.
Jesus said:
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on a rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon a rock.
And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act upon them will be like a foolish man, who built his house upon sand. And the rain descended and the floods came and the winds blew and burst against that house; and it fell, and great was its fall." (Matthew 7:24-27)
