Walk thru the Bible. I think it is bibleinayear.com.
You need a study Bible, and a group of people who have been studying God's Word longer than you. Pray about it and ask Holy Spirit to guide you.

I've been a Christian minister for three decades and I still find many parts of the Bible to be confusing.
One of the things that helped me understand the Bible, however, is that I started reading the King James Version of the Bible in conjunction to studying a lot of Shakespaerian Plays in High School.
The reason that helped is that the KJV was translated into English at about the same time as the Bard was writing all of his plays, so the same kinds of phraseology that are confusing in one, are used in the other, and as I learned how to understand and begin to enjoy Romeo and Juliette, I also learned how to understand and begin to enjoy the teacings of the Bible.
There are several online versions of the Bible, including several online versions of the KJV, with lots of footnotes written by different people, to explain things that are more difficult to understand.
http://www.biblegateway.com is a place where you can read multiple versions of the Bible at the same time, and compare them, which helps to gain an understanding of the concepts as they were originally presented to the translators.. if you can understand how the various translations overlap in meaning..
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/ot/contents and
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/nt/contents is the Latter-day Saint version of the King James version, which abounds in explanatory footnotes, and additional resources.. if you don't mind also sifting through some things that pertain exclusively to LDS theology.
I am currently studying the NIV Study Bible which has an even larger collection of footnotes per page than the LDS KJV , but I can't seem to find an online version of it.

You can get different Bibles on CD's.... you may have an older version of a bible... or one that is paraphrased, and that can be difficult to follow. It is important to find one that is in a translation that is easy to understand... New Living Translation (NLT) is a good one that is easy to read and understand... and is directly translated from the original greek and hebrew... I know that when I read the bible, I have to pray first for God to show me what He wants me to learn... and to open the Word to my heart so I can understand... Praying that you find your way to better understanding of God's Word

First of all, what translation are you using? The King James Version is very difficult to understand. I personally prefer the Amplified Bible. You could go to google and type in 'Bible', and that would give you numerous versions or you can try www.biblegateway.com.

Interesting. I tried to read the bible but I found it quite confusing and difficult to undertand - quite long winded as well. But I have been reading the Children's Bible to my son at bedtime and this is a whole lot easier to read and understand. Perhaps you could start here and then move onto your current Bible instead.

Try the Bible in Basic English ... read a few of the verses online and see if that's better for you.

Hi
Want help???
What I mean is, would you like to study the Bible with someone??
Of course this would be free!
(Acts 8:18-20) 18Â Now when Simon saw that through the laying on of the hands of the apostles the spirit was given, he offered them money, 19Â saying: “Give me also this authority, that anyone upon whom I lay my hands may receive holy spirit.” 20Â But Peter said to him: “May your silver perish with you, because you thought through money to get possession of the free gift of God.
Let me know?? zip me an email etc...

Get a Catholic Guide to the Bible. Great book and ties it all together. It must be read and interpreted as a whole, not in pieces.

some good vids on google and youtube.
Kent Hovind has put out a good 7 part series.
Like anything you study, take notes. This helps alot when reading other passages, etc. I've just picked up mine here and there as I read and watch other things, make notes to myself.
