I have two male kittens (7mos & 3mos) and they both have nasty upper respiratory infections. YES I HAD THEM CHECKED BY A VET and they are both on Clavamoxil (or something). It's helping but I was wondering if anyone had any advise on how to help them get better. I recently had to put the third of my furbabies to sleep (he had a heart defect) and can't stand to see these two sick. I had them both in the bathroom earlier and let the shower run so they could breathe some steam. It seemed to help a little. I just want them to get better...

Clavamox (Amoxicillin and Clavulonic Acid) is the typical treatment for an upper respiratory infection. It can take a while, because with both sick, they can continue to pass it back to each other. A baby bulb works to pull some of the snot out of their noses (yeah, they'll hate it something fierce), but, for the most part, you just have to let it run it's course. If it isn't showing marked improvement by 3/4 point of the treatment regimen, i would absolutely call my vet again. Just to be sure. If the shower worked, keep doing that. Whatever you need to do to make your cats, and yourself feel better --- just do it! Good luck!

So sorry and it seems you are doing everything possible.

If this were happening to my kittens I would take all the tests you have had done and see another vet for another opinion.

I had to do this for my cat and and was so happy I did. Not all vet's are the best.

My second vet's advice proved to be the right decision.

If the shower helped them I would try to have a humidifier on give them a vitamin to help them and put them in a seperate room away from the hustle and bustle

One thing you can do is put saline drops in their little noses. It seems mean, and they will hate it, but the saline will moisten, and loosen some of the dried "snot," and they can then sneeze it out. My vet suggested this when my Rocky had a resp. infection.
