Look into songs by: Jim Gill, Raffi, Wiggles, Greg&Steve
At the kindergarten level, songs like Itsy Bitsy Spider and the ABC's are going to seem a bit young for them. They want songs they can move around to. Jim Gill has some EXCELLENT songs that are easy to put movement to... same with Greg&Steve. Try expanding their musical vocabulary away from the traditional preschool songs.
Also... songs that go with stories are GREAT! Some examples: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Brown Bear, Down by the Bay, My Many Colored Days (if you are actually lucky enough to come by the music accompaning CD for it), etc.

I don't know if you can download her music or not but my kindergarteners ABSOLUTELY LOVE the music of "Dr. Jean." She has several CD's and all of them are great for young children. They are fun, yet very educational!

You should get some Raffi songs. He's a kind of old artist, but when I was little I LOVED him. I would make my mom put it on. His songs are so cute and you can dance to them to. Good Luck!

Dr. Jean and Raffi are great! Also there is hap palmer. Any music with movement is always great, and of course you want to make them educational and fun! Children love the tootie-tot!

Greg and Steve are fantastic. They are fun and educational. Also there is Laurie Berkner (not sure of the spelling). She is fresh and has fun music for kids. If you go to the Noggin website, they have names of many new artists that are out there for kids. They are not the same-old that you think of for kids music. They feature their music on the Noggin channel all the time.
