Yes. Dentists give out soft or medium bristled brushes & not hard ones. Hard bristles can damage the gums. If your gums feel like they need a reall good rubbing, they might have some areas of infection. Flossing relieves hurting gums (flossing prevents infections of gums by removing those yukky bits of food the toothbrush misses). I sound like a dentist, don't I? Not. Just a person with recessed gums.

Yes, it harms the enamel on your teeth and it will also harm your gums. The hardness of the bristles will wear away the enamel and your teeth will become yellow. Stick to soft or medium brushes.

Good question. Have you tried the hard bristles previously? What did your dentist say? Ask him/her and let us know.

I usually prefer the medium toothbrushes.

Thanks and it's awesome when someone cares about good hygeine.

Absolutely! You can hurt your gums with those things. Stick to Oral B toothbrushes or approved ADA battery powered ones.
