Well, I'm going to assume you are in your early teens since you just started wearing more makeup and you are still having problems with acne.
First you should prepare your face for putting makeup on it. Cleanse with an appropriate cleanser for oily skin. You may want to use an astringent to get the oil off. Use a hypoallergeric cream to moisturize that won't clog your pores.
Since you do have acne, I strongly suggest that you don't use foundation until your skin clears up. Foundation, no matter what brand or type, will clog your pores and make your acne worse. I suggest using a sheer powder a shade as close to possible to your skin and swirling it in circles over your face, lightly. Don't use the powder puff that comes with the powder, you'll be putting it on too thick and clogging those pores.
Determine if your skin tone is warm or cool like this. Turn your arm palm-up and look at the skin of your wrist and inner arm in natural light. Do you have a lot of bluish tones or red in your skin? Or warm tones such as olive or gold? Make sure you buy colors that complement your skin. Typically, if you have black hair and dark eyes but very fair skin, or you are blonde with light colored eyes (blue or green or somewhere in between) and very fair skin, you're a cool tone. Dark to warm brown or red hair, brown eyes, hazel eyes, you're a warm tone. Also, if you tan easily and you turn brown, not a brown-red, you're a warm tone.
Okay, for your eyes. Use a brush, not a sponge applicator, to put on eye shadow. Choose a light neutral shade to go over your eyelids and up to your brow line, but not something so dark that it will stand out. Use a contrasting darker shade to go in the crease and follow along right behind your lashes. For a daytime look, line under your bottom lashes with a dark pencil - don't go the liquid eyeliner look, that's too harsh for daytime. I have green eyes, so I use a midnight blue pencil that brings out the green in my eyes. Don't use black - that's for night. Try a dark brown, dark gray, or even a deep dark green to bring out highlights in your eyes. Start at the outer edge of your eye (towards your ears) and draw a thin line about 2/3 the way to the corner of your eye. If the line looks too defined, smudge it a little with a q-tip. you can also use the same dark shadow you used on your upper eyelids to line your bottom lids for a smoky look. If your lashes do not naturally curl, you can also use an eyelash curler before you use mascara. Just be very careful and get as close to the lash root without pinching your eyelid.
Eyebrows - so many women ignore the eyebrows! If you have unruly eyebrows, I suggest going to a salon and getting them professionally waxed the first time. Your stylist can show you how to pluck without overplucking inbetween waxing. It's relatively inexpensive but makes a huge difference. You can then find an eyebrow pencil that is one to two shades darker than your brows and use feather-light strokes along your brows, following the line from your nose to the outside of your brow towards your temple. Think of it as drawing feathers on a bird with your pencil - light, short strokes on the skin under your brows.
Mascara - if you have dark hair, use black or soft black. If you are a blonde or red head, use dark brown or brown-black mascara. Tilt your head up, half-close your eyes and brush upwards with the wand. Then tilt your head down, look up into the mirror, and brush lightly on the lower lashes. Let it dry for a minute or two and then repeat. Clean up any messes with a q-tip.
For blush, find a good color for your skin tone - keeping in mind the whole cool and warm idea - and swirl the brush in the blush. Powder blush is best for you because liquid blush will clog your pores. Tap the brush on the edge of the blush case to remove excess, then smile at the mirror, and find the apples of your cheeks. Draw the brush upwards from the apples of your cheeks to your temples, lightly, two or three times. Too much will make you look like a doll - too little and you won't see anything. You want a natural blush look. After you're done, sweep a little more translucent powder over just to set it.
Lips - this is easy. For daytime you don't need to line your lips or use a heavy lipstick. Try using a gloss with some color in it, or even a blush colored lip stick that will give you just bare color.
If you have a birthday coming up, a great present you might suggest would be to have a professional makeover done at one of the department stores, or MAC. Just beware that you'll want to buy every single thing they use on you, and it can be expensive. My mother did this for me when I turned 14 and it's a memory I really cherish.
Good luck!
