Is located under my right upper/mid back under my wing bone? I have this awful pain when I breath in deeply. I do smoke but not very heavily, I am trying to quit, I am on Birth Control, I take 350mg of Wellbutrin, 20mg Lexapro, and 100mg of Lamictal. What could this be? A rib? A lung? My brain? I am going to make a Drs appointment tomorrow but I was just wondering if anyone knew what it may be. Thanks. JB

Mostly your lung but it can be a muscle or anything causing the discomfort. The best thing is the Dr. and then if you aren't satisfied, get another opinion. I have my reasons for saying this. Just make sure you are checked out and not put off. I wish you luck and hope you get in soon. You might try taking advil tonight or until the appointment, if it feels better it may be muscular....just make sure they check you out though.

Could be any number of things. You may have strained something and it hurts when you breath deep, or it could be a kidney stone, I had that once, but there was a dull pain there even when I did not breathe deep. Could be some liquid in your lung, or a reaction of some sort to one of the medications you are on. Your doctor really is the best person to ask questions to, and he can order test done if need be.

There is a number of things that can be wrong. It is good that you are going to see your dr in the am. Just a question, did this come on after eating? If so, this may be a gallbladder problem. Or it may be a puled muscle. Have it checked that is the best.

I had a 'winged scapula' (torn muscle under the 'wing' area...there are many muscles in that area. The pain sounds more like a pinched nerve or you could very well have a rib outta of alignment because of muscle tightness. I get that on occasion - a stabbing pain.
