To begin with: I eat healthy. As long as I am getting my nutrients and not having chemicals (that go by the name of "preservatives") pumped into me, I am happy. I dont eat out too and carry my lunch, which I cook. Now, what is the best snack to have between meals. Something that will keep me through long hours at the library? Thanks!

I hate vegetables but I guess carrot stick or celery stick is good for your body. Too bad vegetables tastes like crap though.

Complex carbohydrates are a good source of body fuel. Things like fruits and corn or rice based snacks may work. If you like healthy food, like you say, then maybe rice wafers and things like this may be the answer. If you want to spend the money, some of these "Nutra Bar" supplements may work. But be weary of a lot of supplements- they are not all what the marketers and people who make them claim to be; in other words, like a terrific show I enjoy watching, "Pen & Teller's BS", does a wonderful job of illustrating in a particular episode, they are manufactured by people who claim things that are not really true and have been manufactured simply to take money from the average person's wallet in order so that these people can make a buck by just conning you and convincing you that they really work when they do not! Rememer, complex carbohydrates take a longer time for your body to digest so it keeps your stomach occupied for longer hours than simple glucose sugar based foods like junk food chocolate bars (which do have some merrit because they can give you a sudden burst of engery before exams with a cup of coffee), and protein based foods which your enzymes and hydrochloric acid can break down quickly.

Almonds are great as a source of protein...they keep you from being hungry for awhile. And i love mine in trailmix or just with chocolate chips or something. They're great to munch on!
