taking responsibility for the consequences of their own actions? We all know how much better life is without that pesky accountability! Why won't they let us save them from behaving like grown-up-big-peeple and accept it that Jesus absolves us of all blame, no matter what we do! It's bad enough that they choose to live like such bummers, but then they want to force responsibility on us too? Shoving that accountability nonsense down our throats? What can we do to save them from being like that and make them just like us, with Jesus in the sky and no worries?

The idea that atheism is some sort of rebellion is a common one, but also quite absurd. I often receive emails saying that I'm rebelling because I don't like the idea of "something bigger than me", or I don't want to be accountable to a higher power, and so on. If that was the case, then I would not be an atheist, because I would still believe in the God I was trying to get away from! I do not merely say I am an atheist in order to make life easier for myself - I actually am an atheist. I do not believe in the gods of the Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Christians and all the rest. If I was just rebelling, then surely I would know that God would still be there, waiting for me when I die. The accusation of rebellion seems to come from theists who are simply unable to accept the fact that there are hundreds of millions of people in the world who just do not believe in their god, or anyone else's.

Nah, they're just bitter and angry people and religion their scapegoat for the world's woes. You can tell that some of them don't even know the first things about what Jesus taught, and they don't realise that humans will always be harming each other for whatever reason.

Organised Atheists claim that America is the most Christianised nation on the planet...

School shootings (even after Columbine), high rates of divorce, gun culture, rape, pop culture that promotes promiscuity and drugs, snuff films, entertainment that mocks Christanity, sleaze. It's a culture of degredation you export to the world. You Americans are not even allowed to pray in school or even sing Christmas carols in case they might offend someone. Then there's a lot of dirt on George Dubya, the 'Christian' corporate-lapdog president .

Most Christianised Nation? Myth Busted!

It does, but I refuse to accept the fact that they have made up their minds, cause I've made up mine, and I have the Creator of the earth on my side. And He is more powerful than any of them . I guarantee. Prayer works, and you'd better believe it. And you know what I strongly believe? It takes more faith to NOT believe, than it does to believe. There has never been any man come on this earth and live for 33 years and die. There have been more books written about this man, than any other. There has never been a more controversial topic. There has never been any historical or archaelogical discovery that have ever contradicted anything in the Bible AND not only that they have all supported it. Jesus fulifilled over 2,000 prophecies about Him. There is less than a millionth percent chance of that happening. I guarantee my Savior lives, and that one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father, I am just glad I will have already gotten "practice" while here on earth, and I will spend eternity with Christ.

I'm sorry but I am not an atheist, but I do not revolve my life around "Christ" or any type of religion. I am not "sad" and I am NOT "wasting my life"!!! I take responsibility for my own actions and I accomplish things without having to ask/pray or rely on the power of some dead guy. You do NOT have to save me, I am doing just great without you or "Christ". I do not live like a "bummer" and you should not be "FORCING" religion on others, "SHOVING IT DOWN OUR THROATS"!!!!! I DO NOT want to be just like you....I don't understand religion at all...Aren't you taught to love everyone and accept everyone for whoever or whatever they are? Such hypocrites!!!!

that pesky accountability is not something that is a mere whim, as u imply. it is a way to grow past and accept mistakes, rather than ignoring or absolving them, as some christians i know do. and atheists, in general, tend to be very quiet and underspoken in their 'beliefs' whereas christians are the ones that have a reputation for trying to convert everyone to what they believe, because nothing else could ever possibly be right.

So you're basically want to shove religion down their throats, by saying MAKE them just like us. Im Christian, but I would never want to force anything on anyone, and I hold myself accountable. There has to be law and order, b/c Christians are sinners too. We can't rob a bank and say opps, sorry God, thanks Jesus! Noooo. Just be yourself and live the best you can.

Lol, how many people do you suppose will not read your question in its entirety? But seriously responsibility is very overrated. I mean every time something goes wrong the first thing someone asks is "who's responsible for this?"

All I have to say is God loves everyone! It doesn't matter who you are I know that it might be a little hard to believe if you haven't been raised to know God, but in the last days on earth everyone will know who he is. He is a awesome, loving, forgiving, friend and father.

No, they do not make me sad. And I do not believe they are wasting their lives.
And I take it from your question that you are trying to be sarcastic or something. Looks like it to me. Kinda childish of you, if you don't mind me saying.

We don't save anyone, only God can provide salvation. We are to plant the seed and water it and only God can make it grow. Christians are still accountable in all that we do, even more so since we have professed our belief in Him. What can we do?... continue to pray for them and not berate them for their disbelief.
