Yes and no, yep. You get less tickets from dumb and lazy cops who have their radars on all the time, and you get more tickets from smart cops, because you rely on your detector instead of your eyes and brains to spot them. And the percentage of dumb cops is decreasing fast....

Yes and No. If cop is running his radar and detector gets it, you probably got saved that time. But lets say you are speeding and there is a cop hiding in the bushes and at the last second he turns his radar on, then the radar detector didnt have time to recevie the radar signal. and you will get pulled, but if you want to invest in a good radar detector. I suggest looking at this site www.escortradar.com, these are the best radar detectors money can buy.

Yea. I saved myself a ticket the other day. I was cruising at 45 in a 30 when my Radar detector went off. I immediately got off the gas and hit the brakes. Then I pulled the detector off the windshield and put it on the floor. The cop was behind me and didn't have enough to get me. (That paid for the radar detector)

You have to get a good one to give you the most time. The cheap ones go off when you are already made. You also need one that wont keep giving you false alarms. Figure on paying over $150 and get one that works. When it goes off, get the speed down as fast as you can do safely and you wont get a ticket.

Also, dont leave it on your windshield when you park or you will get broken into. Take it off and put it on the floor or in the glove box. ALso, dont go TOO FAST, cause you may not have tiome to slow down when the detector goes off. On the freeways, cops park on the bottom or top of a hill and even the BEST radar detector can't detect that. Radar is line of sight and they take advantage of that. COPS know al about radar detectors and if you DO get stopped with on, they will not show any mercy!!! Be fore warned. Please drive responsibily!!!

They do, I have a Uniden that has picked up signals almost a mile away on occasion. The key to them is how you react when they go off I think. Lots of cops can flip their radar off and on as they are driving. If a cop is very near you, shoots you with his radar and you immediately hit your brakes really hard, he knows you know you were speeding. He's gonna give you a ticket.

I act very casual about slowing down when mine goes off. Sometimes it picks up other radar dectors and other signals and it's almost like I've had it so long I can tell by how it is beeping whether or not it's something to worry about. I have never been pulled over when I have avoided sudden reaction to mine.

Yes they do, BUT.......they only REDUCE your chances of being cited. If you do a lot of speeding, the detector will pay for itself in saved money, but you'll STILL get some tickets.

yeah they work my friends got one and has had too use it on multiple occasions. if it goes off, don't hit the brakes, let off the gas. if you hit the brakes they will know you were speeding. if they ask why you have it or start gettingon you about it, tell them its so when emergency vehicles or other police men are going somewhere quick, you can go ahead and pull over for them early ;) works everytime
