I keep having trust problems with my God. Well.... I have certain wishes and stuff, but I keep feeling stupid and 'sinning' whenever I want to pray to God about it. I mean like... how would God use it anyway? I often wish I was better at drawing in certain styles and things, which my flaws on the face were gone, want a job, ect.
I feel this deep feeling of happiness and gratitude whenever I think about praying about those, especially the drawing part. Maybe God can use those(he's artistic) though I don't know. and I don't want to be praying just for my own satisfication.. Or maybe I was depending too much on my own knowledge and thought? I was wondering how I can serve God with my talents. I can't think of any. Maybe God will know, not me?
By the way, it wouldn't hurt or humiliate to pray, right?

When you pray, say to God what is in your mind and heart. Not what you think you are supposed to say. God knows what you really want anyway, so you might as well say it. He wants you to trust Him enough to say exactly what you want. If He wants something different for you, He'll let you know. You don't have to worry how He will use it later. Your talents will glorify Him just as they are. So go ahead and pray about it, then draw the best you can. And keep your heart and mind open and alert as to how you can help others with your talent, and how you can serve God with it.
(Examples:
1. Working as a police artist, doing robot portraits - that can help a lot of people, even save lives.
2. Drawing illustrations for books that teach something about God.
3. Being a cartoonist - comic strip artist like Charles Schultz (Peanuts) who constantly gave the world something to think about.
4. Just being a good artist, and letting people get to know you through your art, and through getting to know you, they might get to know your Lord.

it couldn't hurt to pray. but some things are best worked at. Drawing is a talent or ana bility, and like all crafts, it has to be hones. you want to be better? practice.
having a job is a good thing! opportunities to witness, money, discipline...
if you're talented in art, draw for God (paintings dedicated to Him, inspirational works, etc). God can use anyone who is willing, for His glory. and it doesn't hurt you either! and God is the ultimate inspirer

St Paul in the bible had planned to do one thing and God changed His direction to do something else instead. Trust God only to lead you on a day by day basis and you will be fine. I heard a very good program on fasting, if you want God's strongest guideance find out about fasting and do it.

Okay, let me do the praying for you:
Lord, guide AppleJockeys' hand as he draws, keep his face clear of flaws, guide him on the right path to his job, and all things which he truly needs.

First of all, in order to pray you have to talk to God. And to seek His will is asking Him what your purpose is. If He gave you a talent for drawing, it is obvious He gave it to you for a reason. I don't think of my talent as belonging to me. It's God's talent and I am just the tool (paintbrush) in His Hand. Never be afraid to be honest in asking God anything. He knows your heart anyway, He knows your motives also. He desires that we ask Him in truth and honesty.

No praying is ok, maybe, you have talked to much to God, and you havent listen what he has to say.
Try to relax, to rest, and to meditate some time at week, to see what happens, and practice a lot, so you can be better each day.

It is not a sin to have problems when learning how to "trust" the greater good! Just know that you will continue to learn and grow, give yourself the time and space to accept your own truth, clear your mind and let the artist shine through.

God is the master artist. He gave us this beautiful world and all its wonders so we would be in awe of it. Take what you have, and put it towards His glory. Glorify Him in with your abilities. What you are seeking is His calling on your life. Come to Him in prayer, but leave silent time to listen to Him move in you, His spirit will lead you, and you can then begin to see him work in your life.

God has given us all gifts. Your drawing could be used in so many wonderful ways to glorify Him. Ask Him to help you use your artistic gift for His glory.
