well spring colors are really nice especially if it is spring! but don't be afraid to use some bold accent colors, like in the flowers. I wouldn't reccommend a bright green tablecloth but i think you get what i mean.

Um, as for the women you mean bridesmaid's dresses? I think really, any color looks good on us. but for me my skin does not have reddish undertones it has greenish/yellow or golden undertones so green colors don't really work on me. I like a peach/salmon color, as long as the style of the dress is tasteful. If you have that color with a bad dress the dress will be 2x as bad.

Spring colors are nice, but not mandatory for a spring wedding. A classic white bride's dress and penguin groom's tux is always a good choice of colors for a wedding. But if you are truly fixed on having spring colors then you can use bright festive colors, like lime green, yellow and pink etc. and decoration for the church (or ceremony hall of your choice).

Also don't be afraid of using light colors on your eyes and lips when having you're makeup applied. Pretty orange, plump and aqua shades bring out dark brown and black skin tones.

Bright Vibrant colors look great on African American women. And no you don't have to have spring colors for a spring wedding. Dark colors will work too. I would recommend that if you go for dark colors have a night wedding.

You can choose any colors you want, regardless of the season.

As for the colors for the women to wear - think about how things will look in pictures. My husband is very dark and I thought a light colored tuxedo would be the most flattering. But in the pictures there is so much contrast between his skin and the jacket that his facial features were always to dark.

I suggest taking trial photos of your bridesmaids in the colors you're considering and see how they turn out.

It's your wedding so you should use colors that you like, you don't have to use pastels just because it's going to be in the spring. In my opinion African American are very blessed when it comes to colors, unlike us white people, you can usually wear any color. Whites on the other hand have to worry about what goes with their skin tone, and hair and eye color. I think you should go with your favorite color no matter what it it and when your wedding is.
Best Wishes.

I think Champagne is a beautiful color on women of color any time of the year..

Also Chocolate is the new color for bridesmaids...

Soft yellow and check out the new shades of green and pink.

My advice is to close your eyes and envision your wedding..

I also like light blue.. Watch the movie "Brothers, Best Man,. The Wood etc" they also show African American weddings and color schemes.

Be creative and make sure that the color your select is representative of you and your husband's love.. The color has to represent you and him.. and ask him what color he likes..Men know too...

Again, I vote for Champagne.. (mixture of beige and platinum)

Congratulations and enjoy your day!

Usually pastels are used in the Spring. It isn't mandatory but using Fall colors such as deep reds, oranges & greens just wouldn't work.

The pastels would work fine if you use colors with the same undertone as your skin. Rich ebony complexions usually have cool, almost blue undertones, while brown and caramel complexions have warm golden undertones.

Instead of using pastels you could use brighter colors, just keep them on the soft side.

Use whatever colors you want. Pick colors that you like and colors that look good on you and whatever members of your wedding party will be wearing them.

A note of warning though.... Do be conscious of what colors will be readily available. I'm getting married in 3 weeks and my colors are red, black, and silver. I'm having a terrible time tracking down some of the things that I want in red and silver because stores only carry them around the Christmas season. If you pick colors that are unusual or 'out-of-season,' be sure to allow plenty of time to acquire the things that you want.

The great thing these days is that it is your wedding and there are very few rules that you must follow!! have any colour you would like. I think a nice bronze or similar would look nice on dark skin. and you can get so many different bronze type colours to suit you.
