This morning my dog had a swollen spot above her left eye and another on her right cheek. They looked like possibly bug bites. I gave her benadryl and iced the spot above her eye. By afternoon they seemed to be ok. But this evening her whole left side of her face is swollen and part of her right side too. Could this be an allergic reaction to something or a bug bite or what?
I haven't changed her food or anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will take her to the vet tomorrow if it's no better but was just curious if anyone else could come up with something.
She's acting fine and eating fine. She doesn't seem to even notice the swelling. Any ideas?

Thank all of you who have answered so far. Let me just reassure you all that she is breathing fine. I did take her collar off and aside from looking funny she is acting, eating and breathing fine. I'll take her to the vet tomorrow if the swelling hasn't gone down. I really appreciate everyone's help. I really think it's a bug bite I was just concerned because the swelling went away and then came back. She's doing ok so far.

that sounds like a spider bite,
i reccomend strongly taking her collar off
just in case her throat closes up you could be saving her life
that being said, if she isnt better by morning take her to the vet, i wouldnt worry too much though, i see this wish spider bites and bee stings alot
the benadryl seems like a good idea

Take to vet NOW! This could be an allergic reaction or some kind of injury. Keep an eye on her breathing. Eating normally is a good sign, but keep a close watch.

It isnt a violent reaction, her airway is patent... if it was something to be overly concerned that could kill her...then the swelling would not have gone down so quickly, eating is a good sign make sure she is drinking as well, if the signs dont disappar a vet visit is in order, your best bt is to assume allergies/allergic reaction...the benedryl was smart, and whn day breaks a vt visit JUST to verify everything is okay

It probably an allergic reaction from the bug bites. They will give you some medicated shampoo to treat it.

Spider bite or if she got into an ashtray.. you would be surprised how much damage cigarette ash can do to your animals.
GOOD LUCK AND KEEP HER ICED OR COOLED DOWN..
put a wet towel into the freezer for a while and see if she will lay on that or if you can place it on her swollen side..
GOOD LUCK HON
