i think the best way for you is to take the bus ,the drivers will give you all the info you need as you go along just ask them they are usually very friendly,this is inexpensive and you can look around in different areas ,in our town all the busses come back to the same location but ask the rules when u get on some require you to stay at the end until the next bus comes,sometimes this may not be a good thing but just ask look at all the bus routes as well as time goes by you will feel better about where to go and not to go just ask people on the buss as you ride as well .

Read and follow the local newspaper and news there, they usually keep you informed on what's going on and coming up. The phone book should have a new visitor section too. You can also call the chamber of commerce.
