Mach or an objects velocity relative to the speed of sound varies the further you go up in Earth's atmosphere. 1 mach at sea level (0 feet MSL [mean sea level]) is 761.2 MPH

Mach number is the ratio of the speed of an object to the local speed of sound. Since the speed of sound varies with the square root of the absolute temperature, and temperature changes with altitude, an aircraft proceeding at Mach 0.9 at 35,000 feet will not be moving as fast as one near seal level. The speed of sound at 15 C is about 340 meters per second.

1 mach = the speed of sound at what ever altitude you are flying. Sound slows down the higher you go because the air is less dense and does not transmit sound as well. The speed of sound at sea level is 739. mph . you can find an airspeed calculator by doing a google search on "Mach one."

At sea level on the defined standard day, mach 1 is 763 mph.

That defined standard is 59 degrees F., barometric pressure of 29.92, then humidity (don't remember) and a couple of other factors. You can look it up.

It changes with altitude and air density and temperature but in general it is the speed of sound. which is 763mph@59 degrees F

Mach. (The speed of sound.) depends on the atmospheric conditions, but is usually around seven hundred miles per hour.

depend on how high you are, but estimates are here

mach=644 knots
mach=1193 km/h
mach=741 mph
mach=1087 feet per second
mach=331 meters per second
mach=12.4 miles per minute
