Brahmanism if seen from a religous historic view is the root of two religions. This religon is based on Abraham. Abraham had two sons, Ishmael and Isaac. Ishamel's followers were Muslims. And Isaac's followers were Jewish. Isaacs followers then formed another group called the Christians.
Buddhism was founded in India by a man named Guthama. It moved to China when Islam and Hinduism became majorities in India. Buddhism is based on self-denial and simplicity.

I'm surprized that the above are ignorant that Buddha escaped Hinduism because of a caste system that allowed them to ignore the poor and weak. THe 'untouchables' were on the bottom, and the 'Brahims' were the upperclass, rich and privileged. Ruling class.
Both believe in pure reincarnation, which means you can come back as a 'cockroach' if you are not careful.
Most Gay people prefer Buddism, like Degeneres and other celebrities.

Brahmanism is Hinduism. This is very complex...essentially we try to figure out the truth of god. Meaning some of the stuff may be wrong, but the basics are right...believe everything is part of a univeral God...Brahman...read some HIndu books if you want to know.
Buddhism is about attaining enlightenment. And compassion towards fellow man. It has many core beliefs of Hinduism.

Buddhists basically believe that all human problems (attachment, anger, ignorance, pride, doubt and holding distorted views) come from our minds. They do not believe external Gods create these problems nor will they fix these problems. It's all your/our responsibility (with help from the Buddhist community and teachers).
So Buddhism is the studying of yourself—the nature of your body, speech and mind. It usually emphasizes compassion, meditation and the realization of the empty nature of all things (the void or emptiness). These collectively can clear the mind of all delusion.
Once the mind is cleared from all delusion you are said to have reached enlightenment.
I do not know enough about Brahmanism to have an opinion.

Well it's interesting because what you call Brahmanism has very rich source of Vedic elements which are Indo-European. Around 500 bc the Vedic religion was deeply influenced by non-aryan ideas which found themselves in new creeds such as Buddhism,
Jainism, and regional forms of Hinduism, along with other sects who either were absorbed into the Hindu pantheon or lost followers through various forms of social attrition. Buddhism in it's many early forms embraced transmigration of the soul, participation of women and men regardless of caste, and put more responsibilty in each individual by the making of merit as opposed to vedic sacrifices.

Brahmanism, also Brahminism, is the name given to Hinduism by some authors in the 19th century CE.[1] The term is considered derogatory by many Hindus.[2] Today's practice in most scholarly works is to use the term Hinduism. Some anti-Hindu groups use the term to denigrate Hinduism by making it refer to a rigid adherence to caste and untouchability.

I don't know how they compare but someone once told me that in buddism, they believe that when the person dies, his soul goes into other objects such as a table or grass. I could not understand that because live energy does not die although it may change form.
