I've been in for six years including a trip to Iraq. I want to become an officer but know one in my unit seems to know how? I'm working on my Masters degree and heading to Warriors Training. I

You can either go to OCS or join ROTC while you are working on your masters. Sounds like your unit doesn't want to lose you to a commission to me. Everyone knows what you do. Talk to your commander. He or she wont screw you.

You apply to Officer Candidate School. It's 14 weeks long. Officer cadidate school is for people exactly in your position (in the military and already have a college degree).

Now I have a question for you. Why aren't you talking to your Naval career counselor about this instead of Yahoo Questions and Answers? I'm not trying to sound sarcastic. You're college educated, you've been in for 6 years. I think you really should be getting with your career counselors on this subject. That is if you're really serious about being an officer!

After your contract ends, go into OCS. Since you already have your 4yr degree you can't o ROTC What unit are you in? It seems crazy that nobody in your unit would know such a simple question soldier.

You cam go green to gold, or wait until your tour ends and re-enlist in the officer ranks. It is very easy ask at battalion they will help you through it.

I would check with a local recuiter to see what they say , you can also look on ako . You might also look around at your collage and see if they have an rotc program . hope this helps . SSG.T
