The Glock Model 22 in .40 S&W. Super safe, easy to maintain, and high capacity.

If you get stuck in a dodgy situation, you'll want a gun that is less prone to jamming. Stick with a revolver and have a semi as a backup. It's also more powerful than a similar calliber semi, depending on the barrel length.

I myself prefer the 1911 .45 ACP Colt and the clones... I have owned several over the years and they were all reliable... the .45 is a good manstopper round, and can shoot a variety of different bullet styles... the newer models all have the barrel beveled in the loading area so the bullets load easier into it... I have also shot barettas, rugers, and S&W, also the Astras and Taurus models, all are good guns, i just prefer the 1911 models (they fit best in my hands...)
