If you google "military poetry" you'll find a ton. I'm also e-mailing a file that has my collection of favorite poems and other writings that you can pass on to her either in whole or in part. Thanks for looking out for your friend. Having that support at home doesn't make having a deployed spouse easy but it does make it easier.

Just tell her you are there to listen if she needs to talk. Do NOT mention anything about him being in danger or the length of time he has to be gone. She knows this already. But I am sure you wouldn't.

My husband is deployed and one thing that really gets on my nerves is when my mom will talk like he is going to be gone sooooooooo long even though he has only 5 months left. My advice is only positive messages or comments which I am sure you will do!!!

You don't need anything except to tell her your heart. That means more than someone else's poem or comments. Don't you think? Just be there when she needs you. Oh, and not on the phone. Just let her cry, No advise on your part. OK?

PS. It means a lot to any woman who's man is away in harms way. I know, it was for my lady in the sixties when I was in Southeast Asia.

ok. Gotcha. You accompanied the three step guiding principle. One, get rid of all punctuation marks. 2, all lines commence with a capital letter. and 3, divide some sentences into 2 or 3 worded lines. And voila! a quick marvelous poem!
