Do you literally mean "attack" or do you mean disagree? If someone has a relationship with God, they are certainly going to have a difference of opinon with someone else who makes up their religion as they go. Just as someone might argue a better political route, or a smarter investment strategy, it is no "attack" for someone like, let's say, a Christian, to object with, "that's not what Jesus said!" If Jesus is God, and I believe He is, then whatever opinion anyone else might conjur up will be wrong if it contradicts Him. I am oblidged to say so, and this is not an "attack" it is straightening out the truth; defending God. You can believe in little green fairies if you wish, but don't feel attacked if I say you need to get some reality.

I was sitting here trying to formulate an intelligent answer but.......I just flat out DON'T KNOW! If they think they are winning anybody over that way, they couldn't further off base. They obviously never read the book How to Win Friends and Influence People. If you want to sway someone to your way of thinking, you do it with love, kindness and tolerance. Maybe they figure if they can't sway someone, they might as well insult them.
There are lot of hateful people, in ALL races, religions, sects or nationalities who are intolerant of anyone different from themselves in any way. But there are a lot MORE people who love each other as human beings, look past our differences, and focus solely on the similarities we all share. If everybody starts by spreading kindness and peace in their own little corner of the world, do you think we can EVER get EVERYBODY on the same page? It would be nice to think so.

To some, I think they think it makes them look better, or feel better about what they believe. I try not to say anything bad about others beliefs. I don't think it does a bit of good to try to bring others down. No matter what your belief is, you have the right to believe it. It's probably different from mine, but that doesn't matter. Being different is what makes life fun, and gives us variety. I think we should all strive to learn what we can, and understand that what makes us different is also what makes us special.

The world is hateful because we are children of fallen parents. We are born with original sin. I agree there is a lack of love.

It is sad how people insult other religions and race. I guess ignorance. People dont take time to learn things. They just listen what is in the news.

People with religious beliefs like to think they have a stranglehold on truth--so to defend their spiritual security blanket they disagree with anyone who holds a different take on "truth" --It's called tribalism--the divisive "us & them" mentality.

power, and self confidence. It is in the nature of a human to fight for their belief(s). Does anyone understand why?

They don't gain anything positive. Trouble is, they're blind to that fact.
I too wish the world wasn't so full of hatred, but I don't see things changing in my lifetime.

I think people must be very insecure in their own beliefs if they attack others. Or they are just downright hateful and intolerant. It's sad indeed.
