Like the other poster said Chevron/Texaco is a good card and they do have a builder/rebuilder card. If you don't qualify for the regular gas card they may offer the builder/rebuilder card. But it will have a small yearly fee.

You would have to look at their website because they do not have stations all over the country. But, even if you live in an area where they have no stations you can purchase things in their online store (a bit pricey though)

If you have never had credit before, you might try for a secured card from places like Bank of America (BofA), Orchard or HSBC.
BofA will grow with you and if you keep the card in good standing you would probably see it unsecure around 9 months or so and have steady credit limit increases.

Orchard and HSBC are great starter cards but they won't grow with you.

You might also check with your bank or credit union and see what they offer for starter cards.

Chevron. There are more of them I think across the country.
