Have you ever felt God calling you to be with (marry or date) a certain person? If so...did you get the chance to and did it last?

I have a similar situation. Ive felt called to a certain girl for three years now. I told her my feelings once and she backed off. She still sometimes gets a bit freaked when a topic of me and her together or something comes up, yet at the same time shes one of my best friends and is comfortable with me and everything.

Im just wondering If I should keep trying if I feel called to be with her. Ive just told her my feelings, never asked her out or anything. Maybe I should give that a shot?

Any advice or responces will help (or some wont and Ill just be mad, lol)

I know it barely matters...i mean, were only about 15, but its so hard for me to have been dealing with this for so many years and now I see my sister and her fiancee making out and stuff all the time cause its soon their wedding. It makes me long to be with her.

Ive said to myself that if I could spend the rest of my life with her, even unmarried, just as friends, away from the rest of the world, I would be happy

If it is from God, it will happen.

Well, my friend, if you truly believe you two are meant to be together, remember one thing. It takes TWO to tango. Maybe she backed off because she really only has affection for you as a friend?
As a guy who's been in that position, you must assess the risk vs. reward. Can you handle the rejection? Or are you so confident that this is God's will that its really not much of a risk afterall?
Truly only one way to find out, but remember, she must believe the same that you do about whether you two should be together, otherwise you will be in a cycle of chasing and then getting rejected, and eventually will lose her as a friend.

It doesn't really sound like your being "called by God" to be with this girl, it kinda sounds like your wanting to feel like your being called to.

If she is totally unresponsive in return, simply suffering through it doesn't sound like a calling. However you might have been called on to be her friend for a certain unknown reason that will change something in the future for one of you, not nessicarily a romantic relationship though.

It says in the Bible that (a man findth a wife). you told her how you feel and that's that. Let God work it all out if it's in His will. Sometimes we push the hand of God to do what we want and not what he wants for our life. She may not be the one for you. Pray to Him to send you someone just for you.
