When you use the adjective "narrow-minded," the group that you are describing is apt to stop listening.

Well, it is precisely atheists are more OPEN minded, hence they do not believe. Narrow Minded people means people who are one track mind and insisting others to take their view. Open Minded people are those who are willing to open to suggestion PROVIDED there are enough evidences and reasons to accept the suggestion.

I am quite sure if you can PROVIDE ENOUGH LOGICAL PROOF that god existed and the bible is the truth, atheists can accept the bible. It is unfortunate, but the only "Truth" some Christians can come up is it is written in the bible that bible is the only "Truth" and hence since the bible it is "written by god" it is the proof that bible is truth, you have to believe in the bible as the truth ..... it ends in a never ending loop....

Put it this way, the burden is on the Christians to proof the existence of god and not the atheists to proof the non-existence of god, you cannot proof things that does not existed because there is nothing to proof at all.

While I do not oppose to you believing in the Bible, why can't you be more OPEN minded and see things in a balanced view?

Well I'm no atheist but more of a realist. So the truth comes from the Bible huh? The funny thing is you cannot give me one fact based explanation or example of what the "truth" is. Would it be true to say that the Bible is no more "truthful" that say a Golden Book about Mother Goose? How about the part where we learn that this Bible is nothing more than interpretations of various scholars and revised and revised over time. Ever played that game where 10 people stand in a circle and a statement is made to the first person and the they pass on the same message to the next person and by the time it goes around to the beginning the message is totally different? that game takes about say 1 minute? Now let's multiply that time frame by say Billions and the people by who knows how many and you want us to believe that the message is still intact and truthful?? Now surely you can even see the fault in the logic. Sure you will come up with some crazy non-fact based argument that cannot be backed up in any way shape or form but I am not here to argue...merely to bring some logic and thought to the blindness of religious zealots.

no. you can not say that athesits are narrow-minded. i am an atheist. i believe in god. but i do not believe in a heaven or hell or satan. i believe jesus existed and he did great things i do not belive he was "divine" or the son of god. and there is proof that all of the bible is not true. like...god created the earth then the plants and animals and then the next day people lived (adam and eve) however that is not possible because dinosaurs were around for hundreds of thousands of millions of years before humans even had begun to live. not one day. so that is not possible. and it also says in the bible that adam and even had 10 sons. how does that work out? the sons slept with the mother. and if that is so everyone would be related. and everyone isnt. so. i believe some parts of the bible are true. but you are being narrow-minded by saying truth comes only from the bible. oh and george bush even though he claims not to be lying he is. he lied to the whole nation from the beginning. there were no weapons of mass destruction. and there never will be thanks to the fact that he bombed iraq into oblivion. there. i have had my say.

The word "spirit" has 2 distinctive meanings. One is a ghost that some people think of come from a guy or woman who has died. The Holy Bible spirit is God's holy spirit that lives interior us that classes us by existence. Your God's spirit is the guy who tells you stunning from incorrect. Your God's spirit leads you to envision the Holy Bible. Leads you to get carry of Jesus because of the fact the son of God. Leads you to be baptized.

Heh hee..funny.

When we Christians talk about the truth, we talk about the person, Jesus. We believe that he is the truth and the way and the life, and no one will enter to the Father's house except through Him. Offer is good for all of us.

I would not call Atheists narrow minded. They have a free will. They have at lest made their choice. God will respect that choice.

Church Lady, this question will do nothing to bring non-believers into "the fold" so to speak. You have a very bad attitude towards atheists. They are people too. I am a Christian, but would never, ever look down on another human being because of his or her belief system, whatever it may be.

I agree with Maria. Those of us who are Christians need to mind our own business. The best way to witness is to do so quietly, by example. Stop shoving things down the throats of others.

Probably for the same reason narrow-minded Christians can't manage to stop minding everyone's business. Well isn't that special?

You're entitled to your opinion and so is everybody else. In my opinion, the bible is a book of good moral "parables" to live by. I do not believe that any of it actually happened, but if some people find peace in the stories I'm happy for them. There is a lot of truth in science--truth that can actually be proven and has a valid explanation. As I said--you're entitled to your opinion, just don't try to make it my opinion too.

Um, your name is 'Church Lady', but I'm pretty sure the person in the picture has a beard.
Why can't you die hard Christians consider for one moment that evolution might have something to do with things?
If you can give me one piece of scientific proof that God exists, then I'll believe in it.
According to your logic, God exists. The big bang is impossible, because it had to come from something. Then where'd god come from?
Some truth. All I see is a bunch of fairy tales.

well, in my case, (I'm not athiest but I dont have a religion) I have never been exposed to a bible. Nobody has ever told me anything about it, so I personally have no opinion whether or not it's right or wrong. I've never even been in a church. So I don't deney that the bible is true, but I've never read it so I can't say anything.
