Took me about 5 years but God changed my heart and I still serve Him.

You have to forgive, I am going through a time where some Christians have hurt me. I am praying everyday for God to help me to forgive. I was misunderstood and I was thrown out of the ministry. It says in the Bible that we have to forgive so God will forgive us. If we don't forgive, God will not forgive us. I understand what you are going through. I just had it happen late last year. Maybe it was good you took some time off. Pray about getting into church work again. Maybe God doesn't want you to do it anymore. Maybe He has other plans for you. Let God lead you. Maybe you were misunderstood and maybe worse, I don't know, like my pastor said today, "Forgive." If you can't, tell God you can't. So God can use you again.
We aren't fighting against flesh and blood but principalities and powers. Remember that.
The difference between bitter and better is the i. Do you want to be bitter or better?

1. First, don't pretend you've forgiven until you've truly forgiven with all your heart.
2. Weigh what they've done to you, and express it to God.
3. Tell Him how angry you are, how much harm it did to you, and what they would deserve.
4. Now go to the cross with that. Look at Jesus as He takes all you've done against Him, assumes the debt, and pays for it. So you can be forgiven.
5. Now make the choice, deliberately, to forgive those who have hurt you even as God has forgiven you. Express all of this to God.
Don't skip any of these steps as being unnecessary. Don't take any short-cuts.
6. Let your mind be renewed: attitudes you have taken, or lies that you have believed because of this hurt, you must recognize them for what they are, and deliberately reject them. (For instance: "I will never trust church people again", or 2all church people are hardened hypocrites".
Whatever it might be, confess the false belief to God, and tell Him you are chosing to believe the truth and not a lie.
All this is a difficult process, but it is the only way of obtaining full healing.
EDIT:
Your other choice would be just to lick your wounds, bury your hurt, and try to pretend it never happened, then go elsewhere, to forget it. But remember this:
What you flee, follows you.
What you face, you conquer.

Could you give some more specifics? I am a Christian as well, and have experienced similar things. Unfortunately not all Christians conduct themselves in a manner that is pleasing to God <>< <>< Also there are times when we come under the attack of the Enemy, if this is the case move closer to God even more than you ever have for His protection. Now is also the time to get into His word with prayer & supplication. It is certainly a difficult task at times when you are being tested. God Bless you & your ministry <>< <>< In Jesus Name <>< <><

that is satans plan, forgive them and get over it. Go to another church. You are to worry about Gods will and worshipping Him not what people do to you. There are many good churches and great Christians out there. Dont let mess ups ruin your life or your call of Jesus. Phil 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

you should first remember that been a Christian does not stop other from wanting to distoryed us. it give tham, even persons who clame to be Christian more reason to get at you. One should be perpaired for a spirturul war once they become a Christian. If the devil is not after you then he already have you.
The only cure for bitterness is forgiveness. Once you for give all bitterness have to go and i mean real forgive that u began to want God to do all that is good for that person. Let God will be done with your live and no bitterness can stay in it

A couple of things come to mind:
1) You can't move forward by looking behind you. What happened in the past is in the past, and you can't change it. The only thing you can change now is whether or not you let it control you. "Forgiveness" isn't given for the people who wronged you - forgiveness is given to yourself to allow you to move on with your life. As long as you let their actions continue to affect your life, you continue to give them power over you.
If the wounds are so deep that you can't move on by yourself, I would recommend talking to a professional in order to help you deal with the past and move on to your future.
2) Know that those who hurt you are probably not indicative of the whole of Christianity, nor of all churches. It was something done by individuals, and pre-judging other individuals based on them is not fair to you or to them. If possible, though, you may want to look at joining a different church or congregation.
3) I would strongly recommend that you speak with your God for guidance and for help in overcoming the things that have happened to you.

as long as you know the word and it says, love your enemies this is what you must do. does not the word say that the lord will fight your battles for you?you must have faith in times of distress and turmoil. stand on his word.he said he would never leave you or forsake you.look at this as a test.how can you pass your test if you are walking around in unforgiveness?.you must forgive in order to be forgiven.cast your cares upon jesus,he will take the pain away.please do not judge all christians because of the few who fell short and hurt you.remember if you are bitter they have victory over you.don't let anyone steal your joy. amen

You are focusing on yourself. If you are interested in being a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you're not what matters.
Remember, nothing happens by chance. (Romans 8:28)
If we want forgiveness we must forgive. Even if we can't forget, we MUST forgive.
What God, through Jesus Christ wants you to do is what really matters. It's what you can do to help the lost and hurting that matters, focus on them.

Well, it sounds like they weren't really Christians then, were they? Today, my pastor had an interesting sermon on such a topic about wounds that were have not healed. God can heal your pain and give you a fresh start. Good luck and God bless.

You have to let it go and ignore it and that what bitterness is all about. If you have to still look at them or hear their mouths chatter with "self worship" in service of dusty icons or the triumph of used clothes than possess them and imprison their minds with the key of light. "White magic" actually works when things are foul.
