Any sort of suspicious bump should be looked at by your doctor, especially if it's been like that for so long. It's might be something simple but you should make sure. By the way, do you wear earrings to bed? If you do and you sleep on your side it could be the cause.

I had something similar, I finally stuck it with a very very thin sterilized sewing needle, gave a bit of a squeeze and sure enough, it emptied sebum out. I'm not a doctor and I don't suggest people sticking themselves with sewing needles at all. I just got sick and tired of it's presence, had gone to my MD who said "it looks like a clogged pore/sebaceous cyst, it'll go away". It didn't, so I "popped it" for lack of a better term. I've had others since and just popped them in the beginning. I wear glasses alot, so I blame my long hair and ear pieces on the glasses for clogging the minute pores in that area. Good Luck.

Could be several things. If it is below your ear, closer to your jawline it could be a swollen lymph gland.
Also it could be a deep pore than gets infected/swollen periodically. Have someone take a look at it if you can't see it to determine what it looks like.

I have one behind my left ear. It's a mole. Just leave it alone. It will likely get alittle bigger over the years, but should be fine.
If you have any questions, ask your doctor about it the next time you visit him/her.

Naw, just mash it every now and then!
You may could use some otc stuff for freezing warts off, that may get rid of it.

It could be something serious. I would point it out to your doctor on your next check-up.
