I want to become a cop in the future and i really want to know more about law enforcement. So it be nice if someone can answer all my questions.

1. Say i am driving the Police car, i get a call, and i am on the way to the location but i get lost, would i get in trouble?

2. Do you have be good with directions inorder to become a cop?

3. What are the requirements to join State Police? I live in PA so if i was to join it would be Pennsylvania or NewYork State police.

4. What is the yearly salary for a State Trooper?

5. What do you do as a State Trooper compared to a regular police officer in towns or the city.

Just to add.

I wear glasses for driving (but i can drive fine without) would i have to wear contacts or can i still wear glasses as a cop?

And are you allowed to bring your own portable GPS into your Police car?

1) You would use your on board GPS or radio to get directions.
2)Yes. It is part of the written test.
3)Don't know about Penn. In NJ a college degree or prior military service. Written and physical fitness test.
4)Don't know.
5)Primarily patrol state roads, provide protection to rural areas, supplement other law enforcement agencies.

Yes if you get lost you will have to explain it to your supervisor.

Yes you need to be able to find places the dispather is sending you to.
Remember you are driving these roads day in and day out every day, you are going to work for months with a field trainer before you start on your own

You can wear glasses as an officer, most departments expect you to learn and know the area you are working.

You should be familiar with you beat, but there is no problem with asking the dispatcher locations. Happened to me several times in twenty years.
