I have to do a report and I wanna know how you guys feel. Are you for or against random drug testing in schools? Not just the athletes either, everyone in the school is possible to get tested.

I am not sure of my feelings about this because it leaves so many other problems unresolved.
Personally, I think we should drug test anyone on goverment assistance but that would never fly because we really do not want to know how many people are on drugs in the US. I do not think we would really want to know about the students either. Sure we preach about our future, but if we really cared, we would have an entire overhaul of the US educational system.

Maybe some things to include in your report:
1. What is your goal for the testing? To kick kids out of school or to get them help?
2. If we get help for them, who pays for it? Schools cannot afford to educate the kids already.
3. Should students that are home schooled be tested also?
4. If we are testing the students, shouldn't we be testing the teachers too?
5. If you are convicted of some types of charges related to drugs, you cannot get federal student loans. Would testing open up a can of worms?

I know I gave you more questions than answers but hopefully they will help you on the report.

Personally, I would be against it, except for in the cases of atheletes and those considered to be in leadership positions---like class presidents. My reasoning is that those people are supposed to be role models and others look up to them. Therefore, they should set a positive example by staying drug free.

I think that is awesome! That would really help the world with many problems, early pregnancy, robbery, young deaths, murders. I hope they really start that.It would be very difficult to enforce.
