I am assuming you have allergies to other food products- and that is probably the source of your problem with the beer. Beer is a fermented product of grains- usually hops, barley, or wheat. It could also be whatever is being used as a preservative. Since you are getting the swollen reaction in the lip, you are getting a definite allergic reaction, and you should not which beers are doing this. In the future, you really should avoid drinking them at all. As with all food allergies, the reaction gets worse, and eventually you could experience a very ugly anaphyllactic shock reaction to the beer. Not worth dying for a beer- so avoid the types which cause the problem or stick with other alcohols.

You could be allergic to the wheat, hops or barley that is in what ever beer you are drinking, you also could have a metal allergy - in other words the can you are drinking from may be causing the problem as well. You definitely need to go to an allergist and let them run a test to find out, because if your lips are swelling like that, chances are pretty good that your throat may be swelling too and you just don't realize it. Hope this helps

Yes it sounds like an allergy and no there are no shots for this. Your best bet is to get tested for food allergies and find out what ingredient in beer you are allergice to. Why not drink some of the wine coolers or drink non alcoholic beer

What that person said.
Certain beers is where the error is at, take the can to the doc that has the stuff that creates lip swelling. Find out if it is a particulate in one recipe that contains the 'trigger' or reactant. Avoid beer altogether, or help others with this same malady and find the solution.

As a beer drinker, I would discontinue the drinking of any beer which made me resemble Angelina Jolie, regardless of whether it was a food allergy or not...unless the alternative was collagen injections...in which case I would drink the beer...

Could be malt, or CO2(what makes the fizz), or hops. Those are not used in shots.
