CutePDF installs as a printer and when you print the document you can choose is to print to. It then saves the document as a PDF.

Anything you print on your PC can be sent to PDF; documents, web pages, etc.

It's free and easy to use.

If you use OpenOffice, you can go back and forth between those formats with regular functions, like Save. It's extremely easy.

depending on what version of office you're running there is usually a plugin for "saveaspdf"

If you're using an unlicensed copy you can't get it directly from the microsoft site but I found it from other sources.
