This depends on your body type.
I have had a 42-44 Chest (Large T-Shirt) for
about 23 years- my entire adult life. This hasn't fluctuated much- regardless of whether I weighed 225 (not any more!) or 185.

The fact of the matter is: dieting, exercise, body-building, etc.. will not shrink your rib cage, shoulder blades, collar bones, etc..... (unless one's diet is really messed up and they are deteriorating from the inside out?!?)

I lost 20lbs and went from boredline L/XL down to S/M so I'd guess that a shirt size is about 10lbs.
