I am really tired of seeing Christians attacking Atheists on Yahoo! Answers. Don't you realize that by not showing love towards your neighbor that you're adding fuel to the Atheist or Anti-Christian fire?
I guess my question is: Why do you attack people of other religions when you know it will do you no good in furthering the love and gospel of Christ?

You know, there are plenty of decent Christians out there, but I think they've been driven away from Y!A R&S by the kind of behavior you described. It's easy for us atheists to forget that some of you are willing to behave as maturely as you just did.
I think you're wrong about your basic beliefs, but I respect your attitude and behavior. I see you roused some of the other decent Christians with your respectful question as well. Congratulations to those of you who rose to the occasion.

Dear friend,
people attack because they have a fear within themselves, to answer why are the Christians attacking the Athiests, that is cos the Christians want the whole world to be Christianised.
Some Christians are genuine in their faith but the mischief makers only hide in the name of Jesus, and never quote Jesus, its always Paul, meaning Paul is their real master not Jesus, and Paul is responsible for the Christian belief.
It is interesting how you ended with "the love of Gospel of Jesus"
Out of the 63 books of the Protestant Bible and the 73 books of the Catholic Bible not one is refered as "Gospel of Christ"
As a Muslim what we say is The Gospel is what ever Jesus spoke, the revalation that was given to Jesus by God, but unfortanatly it was not scribed. And what we have is Gospel according to Mathew Mark Luck and John.
This is most unfortinate the world would really like to know the Gospel of Jesus, son of Mary one of The Mighty Messangers of God. And yes every Muslim loves Jesus, if not then Hevean is forbidden for them.
On a personal note in the style of your question you seem like a very nice person, and may your dreams come true and lead a good life, and be successful in this life and the hereafter.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
If Christians can't preach the Truth in this matter, then you are diluting the chain freeing message of the gospel. If Christians can't LIVE that way either, their message may not be as effective.
It is discerning in the spiritual realm and the Holy Spirit that brings the true message and illumination. Whatever truth needs to be preached, it needs to be done.
I can't stand foolishness and mockery, There are a few, no matter what belief, will do anything to deface Christianity. If hell is their destination, so be it. Their choice. But if someone wants to be open to the Truth, I have my arms open to receive them with the love of Jesus.
You can show some people the love of Jesus but most reject Him already.
You want to further the gospel? Be so on-fire for God and be blameless in their eyes, lift Jesus up, they will be drawn to you.
Then the message of the cross becomes reality for the curious.

There are some of us out here that have a little clearer picture of the real world than you seem to be ready to see for yourself !!
We will let you and the others of the faith that think by some method that you're going to Love these lunatics into the "fold" of Christ if you feel that is your calling---- but at the same time DO NOT read your own calling for the calling of others , my brother--- and if I could be so bold as to point out to you that the Bible instructs you as well---- To Put On the Whole Armour of God--- did this instruction come to us for the Love Fest that you are suggesting happens here--- if so--- dream on ----there is a war going on and you can choose the route of Love them to death if you care to---but the enemy is at work--- he is dragging our family member---friends and neighbors to the brink of hell with lies and deceits of every description ---and you want us all to "just get along"----- GO BACK TO SLEEP !!!!

I guess they do it because they are human also, and prone to error. You get tired of all the mocking, all the name-calling, all the ridicule and you strike back. It's human and it happens.
It would be nice to warn brothers about this error without actually putting them down too much. Give them the same chance to repent that you give everyone else. If you are a more mature Christian then that is good. Use your discipline and wisdom to inspire your brothers.

you know, 99% of the time i think most of the answers on either side are just therapy for the indivdual, just a way of letting off steam, asserting an identity in an crowded room type of thing if you will. if we all took each other as serious as that, the mideast conflict would look like a frisbee contest in comparison.

and I only attack atheists who attack me. it isn't right, but usually, admittance is the first step to repentance. I know, we should be fighting fire with water....
