no such thing as E-10, yes there is an SGT Major of the Army, there could only be one of them, but its considered "Special Enlisted, but as every one said E-6 Staff Sgt, E-7 is Sgt. First Class, E-8 is Master Sgt. or First Sgt(First Sgt has more supervision responsibilities, E-9 is Sgt. Maj. and Command Sgt Major( CSM commands more soldiers than a SM)

Other NCO's(Non Commsioned Officer) are E-4 Corporals and E-5 Sergeant.
