My 29 year old boyfriend insistes on spanking my 15 year old daughter as a last resort...is this inappropriate?

He's your boyfriend, not your husband. You should be making this decision, not him. If he doesn't respect you for that, you should seriously consider sending him packing.
It is inappropriate to spank a 15 year old for the simple reason that at this age they are almost an adult. A spanking would do more damage than good. Resentment will be built pretty quickly which could damage your relationship with her.
It is even more inappropriate for him to spank her. In fact it's called assault. Stand your ground, take a stance, and if he doesn't respect you for your decision you should seriously consider your relationship with him.

yes, this is inappropriate, she is 15 years old, to old for spankings. Tell him what that he cant do that and if he doesnt approve then leave him, your daughter should come first.

This is totally wrong. He should not be touching your daughter like this, and you have to do something about this. Spanking the child will not teach the child nothing, it will just let them know what will be ahead of them if they mess up. This is very innapropriate! Your boyfriend just wants someone to touch physically and sexually.

At 15 it is not appropriate because it doesn't have the right effect you are wanting. Instead your daughter will want to act up more because she will feel as if she is being too restrained. It isn't appropriate and will make her more rebellious.

at 15 years old, you should not be spanking your daughter. she is entirely too old to be punished in that matter. taking away her t.v. or phone priveleges is more appropriate

Definitely, your child is yours to discipline not his, and at her age spankings are not going to do anything but worsen what ever behavior is causing her to get spankings.
You need to ask him to step back and if he can't do that then you need to step away from him.

i think at 15, spanking wouldn't work anyways. so yea, I wouldn't spank her. You may want to try talking sessions with her, and allow her to learn to trust to come to you to talk. OR try grounding her, but remember to pick your own battles.

If he's doing the spanking he'll get hauled off for sex abuse.....if you are doing it your daughter might break your face!
