I found a great spot that has overnight accomadations, and we would have access to the whole facility for the weekend, my concern is the distance for my guests. I know it would be at least a 30 minute drive for most.

It is not uncommon for guests most guests to travel 30-45 minutes to get to a venue. Of course a few guests who many live in nearby cities, may travel up to 60 minutes to get to a venue as well. I find guests don't mind travelling particularly when both the ceremony and reception are held at the same location (which sounds like what you are doing). That's exactly what we did. We rented an historic mansion to hold our ceremony and reception. It was important to us to have everything in the same place since guests would be travelling up to 60 miles away to attend. Most of our guests had a 30-40 minute drive and a few of them had about an hour drive. But we didn't have any guests complain about the distance and everyone had a great time. They really liked having everything in one location. I think what you are planning sounds just fine.

The closest people coming to my wedding are my parents & they have about 30 minutes to drive. Everyone else is driving around 45 minute to 90 minutes, due to most of our family living out of the area where we are getting married. Speaking from personal expierence, I don't mind a bit of a drive to attend a friend or family members wedding, & 30 minutes isn't even much of a drive in my book.

I think 30 minutes is OK, maybe a little far to some. But, I think anything more maybe an inconvenience. Since the place seems to have overnight accommodations, some people may opt to stay. It sounds like the place you found is wonderful, once people see that, they will probably be more forgiving.

i think of it relies upon. i think of because of actuality that none of your travelers are out of city travelers helps lots. in simple terms keep in mind that if the positioning is 40 5 minutes away, you will could desire to have some style of exciting cocktail hour on the grounds which you and your husband will in all probability choose an hour between the ceremony and reception for photos. which will positioned the bridal occasion an Hour and 40 5 minutes in the back of the the remainder of the travelers. So, having a cocktail hour is a could desire to to your situation. That being stated, i think of if the reception hall is easy to get to, and additionally you incorporate somewhat sturdy guidelines as nicely as a telephone form of someone who somewhat knows the section (In case somebody gets way spun around), you're able to desire to be ok.

A rule of thumb is no more than an hour. Provide Mapquest directions to the appropriate sites for those guests coming in from out of town.

My daughter married in St Johns in the caribbean, took the guests 2 days to get there.

I drove from Dallas to Oklahoma city for a friends wedding.

I thought they were important people.

They'll proabbaly stay the night especially if they are drinking. Most guests travel that far regardless. My daughter got married in Va. at Airlie (NICE!) and most people drove from MD., Northern Va. & PA. Some came from Belgium, California, the Czech Republic and China.

thats reasonable....I personally live in a small town outside a bigger town and most of my guests will have to drive 20ish minutes to get to the ceremony site then another 10 to get to the reception, but this is the norm and is expected....no prob!

I think 30 minutes is more than reasonable. We had a 45 minute drive between our church and our reception!! That was pushing it!

Thirty minutes is not a long drive for something like a reception. It
sounds like a great place so it will be worth it. Have a blast!!
