ok i have a 1 gig iPod nano and on the box, it said that it can hold up to 240 songs but i only got up to 179 and it already ran out of room. anyone know why?

it depends on the size of the songs, also you might want to take out any pictures from the ipod since this takes a lot of space.

That 240 song estimate is based on a 128 kbps AAC file, usually around 4 MB per song. Most songs take up more than that, especially at higher quality MP3 format, such as 192 kbps or 320 kbps.

Notice how you said 'up to 240 songs'. The manufacturers assume that each song you have will only be three minutes long.

My friends nano freezes ingredient for all time, and my iPod video did it earlier it have been given stolen. If it freezes, attempt doing the stressful reset ingredient the place you press the middle button and the menu button and carry it for like 10 seconds.

Yeah, the menu interface takes up space too, and the songs might be longer than average. Hope that helps,
